did you know why the Israelites are the people of god? because they have won the war! if the Egyptians won then we may have different god today. if the Romans doesn't beat the pagans, then we may have different gods today. he who wins the battle are the chosen one, the right one.

personally, i do not believe in most of the teachings in the bible. there are a lot of loop holes and the priests are confusing me whether to interpret it literally or not. they do both. if they cannot explain it literally the they will say that there is a deeper meaning in the story blah blah blah!

but you know what? i do believe in GOD. but the one i believed in is just, fair, loving, etc. this GOD loves us all because He created us.

don't believe everything you read. specially the bible because you cannot validate the facts. (they have validated some but most are still not proved.... so until they prove it.... don't believe everything)

the bible is a loosely based historical account with LOTS of fiction in between.

But if you really want to use the bible as a resource - two things are true:

1. In the bible it says that the Jews are the "chosen people" - so in that case, yes he has favorite.

2. The Jews were only "helped" by god when the Jews were being oppressed or enslaved.

Its not like the Jews were a murderous group that went around randomly killing.

Anyway - after all... its JUST the bible. Its probably best to read a history book.

The first word for God in the Bible is Elohim. Which means more
than one God. The Elohim are, I believe, the Powers and
Principalities.
This is a paradox. In that we can say they did God's will,
because God let them be in power. But as far as God giving
them orders all the time. I don't think that's the way it happens.
The Powers and Principalities are not perfect. And they make
decisions and take actions on thier own. It takes a knowledge
of Reincarnation to understand why many suffer so. If we
realized all lived as a soldier in an army in one life, who killed, beat
people, and murdered innocent children. It would be easier to see
that God is not unjust.

This idea of their being the only Chosen People of God is commonto all religions and from it follow the slanted stories of God favouring them and punishing their opponent whom they could not vanquish. All the religions have a fond belief that their religious t exts are the Word of God and theefore not be doubted. A close study of ancient scripture claimed to be the Breaths of God(Nishwasit) has revealed many conflicting statement. Unless God the omniscient is to be branded as forgetful(what can poor fellow do aeons of ages old that he is) the only conclusions is that these are human compositions passed under name of God.
The recent reestablishment of Jews in the land of their birth from which they were driven out which is quoted as a confirmation of the word of god by devouts is nothing but justification of international pressures to suit its politics. There is no independent evidence of such an Exodus and even supposing it were tobe true there is no contributory evidence that the present denizens of Palestine were the descdents of those who drove theJews out. There had been a regular Move on game inthe middle east in historical times. There is evidence to suggest that there had been a serious propoosal of resettling the Jews the world over in an area in Africa near the rise of the Nile. The Jews had agreed to it and also the African countries as well as America, England. Then one day this proposal was unceremoniously dropped and this ancient prophesy was recalled. Obviously it suited the West to have their own people inthe middle east which was a rich sourse of oil. Even if god himself had descended and cried at the top of his voice that this was not so and it is nothing short of defaming him he would have been hooted out as a false god since this intervention did not suit the international politics.

The problem is that the peoples of the world had chosen false gods for themselves other than the real God. The Egyptians had their gods, the Canaanites had their gods, etc., etc. What God did was pick the Israelites for themselves and said, "I will be your God, and you will be My people," and through them and the miracles He would perform on their behalf (and the occasional punishments He would inflict upon them for their disobedience) He would show the nations of the world that their gods were false and that He was the only true God.

The Israelites are his chosen people, though any may claim the promises given to them by way of accepting his son Jesus as their saviour. God however was not and is not a respecter of persons

Hi, the answer to your question is NO. Because of His Infinite Wisdom and Power, He makes decision that we can not fully comprehend. Also note that He used Isrealites work ethics and communal life to bouy up the prosperity of the Egyptains those days, and Pharoah should have ordinarily let them go, or better still, negotiate a better deal with them(as in today's world) inorder to uplift them from thier pariah status[as the US is doing to all nationals by giving them a right to free society, and d american dream bug], but he refused after many miracles by the prophet Moses.

First we need to determine which God we are talking about here. Are you referring to the real God, the unconditionally loving God who we are all a part of? This is the one Jesus was talking about when he said the kingdom of God is within you. The one who is our dearest friend and closest companion.

Or are we talking about the angry little judgmental God that lives on some far off cloud called heaven. The one who seems to be more concerned with our errors than he is with our successes? You know the egocentric needy little God that always wants people to worship him. The one who picks favorites and is always unavailable because he is only a fantasy? You need to specify if you want a real answer.
