Considering that pride is the ultimate sin in Christianity, I mean... In my experience, when people say at a first meeting: "I am a Christian, you know", it means they want to 'look' good, which means trouble.

Actually it depends on the heart behind it. As with many such things, the heart with which we do things determines our intention. If they only say it to look good, then they will have had their rewards in other peoples praise and admiration. If they are doing so because God has told them to for some reason, they will have their rewards of him. I am proud to be a Christian myself, not through pride at all, but because I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ and I am blessed to overflowing by God so I like to share that with others so they may also learn what is available and claim it themselves. And if I didn't give such a testimony, how would they know it was available to be blessed by God?

Pride is not the Ultimate sin.
Shows how little you know or have read.
Being a fraud can also mean contempt for other people.
Questions like yours are meant to bring out hatred.
Pride comes before a fall.
Yes we all fall down, I do not deny that.
However interest and questions can teach you a lot as long as you keep it sincere and honest. Are you capable?

God Bless

We do not do it to "look good", as you put it. I am proud to be recognized being a Chistian. The Pharisees were the High priests of Israel, and they wanted to do thigs their way. I as a Christian, sow the seed wherever I can and just pray that at least some of it falls on fertile ground.

Most Christians shouldn't have to tell someone they're saved, it should be obvious. Though it does sometimes make sense to tell others upon meeting them. It will allow them to not say or do things that may later make them feel embarrassed about when they find out. It also gives others a chance to request prayer if they or a loved one need it. It lets them know, so they can ask any questions they may have about our faith. Lastly it gives them the opportunity to avoid me, so they won't get my religious views shoved down their throat.

Yes because pride is a sin, according to that belief

I wouldn't say I was "proud" of being a Christian. I would be more likely to say that I am "thankful" or "glad" that I was a Christian.

I've got nothing against people telling me that. If they do I would just say "Good for you".
