I won 300 once from the lottery. When I went to get the payout, the guy behind the counter was someone I had went to school with, but he didn't recognize me. Maybe he was jealous. Or maybe it was because I had hair as a kid...

Okay, here's my horror story. A friend lived in a HUGE block of flats with hundred of residents and he appointed himself The Lottery Man and went out to buy everyone's lottery tickets. Many were elderly and welcomed his help. He was honest and always delivered their tickets. Some bought a lot every week, or twice a week. I'm talking hundreds of pounds here (per resident!)
When he told me this, he'd been doing it for about ten years. I asked him:
"Any big wins?"
His answer:
"Nothing over four-digit wins." (what is that, 80 or 90 pounds)
I rest my case.
I like to be able to say
"If I win the Lottery I'll....."
but only spend one pound per week.
Even that I feel I should put in a piggy bank and have fifty quid to spend on a nice dinner each New Year's Eve!!!

I used to use the same numbers week in week out, and never even winning a tenner, the same wk that the chap from Leicester won 7.9 mill I had just changed my numbers! As my then husband and I were in the middle of splitting up I didn't want to let on how close I had come to sharing it, so I went into the bathroom, screamed through my hands, and then went into the garden and did the same!!I've never done the lottery since!!!

Two stories, both horrors!

1. When Mark Gardner, the bloke from Hastings who won the 22 Million Rollover (the first ever rollover) I was standing behind him when he bought his ticket.

2. Once every number came out one below my numbers! That's like 1,5,7,9,12,15 when my numbers were 2,6,8,10,13,16 It's funny for the first three, but not for the next three. (By the way, those aren't my numbers)

My grandmother picked the same numbers every week for twenty years. And then on the day that she had the flu and didn't buy a ticket, her numbers came up.

Yep.

I haven't won anything yet. That's the horror.

The success is that I stopped playing it and now I have more money :)
