Me and my ex were together for 2 years. We broke it off about 3 weeks ago and I am finally starting to feel some closure from this whole thing. We had our ups and downs and thats fine. She cheated and things went downhill from there but I did not have the heart to walk away when I should have. I think that made things worse at the end. At the end things got pretty intense and I went off on this girl. I feel terrible about that. I did apoplogize to her and everything but I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this before and what is the best way to avoid that happening in the future. I feel women should be treated with respect and feel crappy things went down that way. I just could not control my feelings.

next time don't bottle things in. if your girl cheats on you and that is something you just cannot forgive her for, then get out immediately. dont try to change who you are. sometimes you can try to fix something that is broken but there will always be the visible cracks. that is pretty much what happened in your case. you thought you forgave her but you just kept everything inside. next time go with your instinctive feelings. think about them again and if your conscience and your subconscience meet at a point thats your answer. you apologized to this girl. she's now your ex and probably should remain your ex. it would be worse if you talked to your current gf like that. my advice to you is never lose the level of respect with your girl and if you do, you know the relationship is pretty much over.

This is one of those... where you read the WHOLE thing... and at the end there is NOT a question.

This is YAHOO ANSWERS... not BLOG CITY!

If after two years it only takes 3 weeks for CLOSURE... this woman must not have been MUCH to you. So... If the *question* is... am I an okay person... although that's a question best answered by YOU... If YOUR STORY is anywhere near accurate... the answer is YES.

When someone cheats.. you're not SUPPOSE to treat them like royalty... and if it doesn't get fixed in a hurry... moving on isn't just the BEST WAY... it's the ONLY way.

Look man I get like that with my girl now, and to tell you the truth, there's nothing to can do sometimes, some woman push and push. And I to respect women, but it goes both ways man, you can's respect someone who disrespect you and dont' respect herself. I say just walk away, its impossible with woman and just like it happen you if you stay long enough something will happen. So dont feel bad man, what happen happen, just try not to let other people get the worst of you, you're better then anyone just remember that.

One interesting thing I have learned over time is that when you begin to have certain feelings about a situation 99% of the time those feelings are correct. The unfortunate thing is that most people do not trust their instinct or feelings, and things have to escalate to make people act. What I would suggest to you is that the next time you begin to have feelings that things are taking a turn for the worst confront those feelings before the worst happens.

Like Kelly Clarkson says...just walk away.
Your emotionally jacked up. Let her go.
Move on. Get busy doing something that you want to do.
Make yourself available for others.

If by "went off" you meant verbally? Just let it go.
If you beat her up, be glad you aren't in jail and stay away from her.

Walk away, with resolve. I have, shaking with anger.
