What is seven dust? And how is it used? I need to get rid of fleas on my kittens (12 weeks old) and in my home. Thank you.

Please don't use sevin. It's a chemical pesticide made for outdoor application. Regardless of how many people use it in their homes, it is not supposed to be used there.

There are some excellent flea products available, and I highly recommend you check out this site:

I use this product on my cats, it lasts longer than any of the other products I've tried, and it's way cheaper than other topicals (the ones that work, anyway). It's a liquid you put on the scruff of the neck of the cat.

For your house, try this: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=2982&Ntt=fleas%20cats&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Np=1&N=2002&Nty=1

If you have fleas in your yard (you'll know as they hop on you), you might treat the yard with sevin. But not inside the house.

I have not see that biospot for sale in stores, not even in pet stores, but it might be. I've purchased many flea products over the years, some are very smelly, some irritate my cats, some make my cats very ill, and some don't work. The biospot works on my cats very nicely.

If you visit a store such as Petsmart, you might be able to find this product and use it in the house right away: http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441775292&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302032919&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023689&bmUID=1154181328355&itemNo=27&Nao=24&Ntt=fleas&In=All&previousText=fleas&N=2

The over the counter flea things you put on cats do not work in my experience. Vets carry very expensive, topical drops (frontline and advantage are two of them), but I much prefer the biospot, as it is cheaper and lasts 2-3 months as opposed to one month.

Keeping fleas under control is expensive at first, but once you treat your house and yard, and cats, with a product that works, future problems can be avoided.

The main thing I've found to look for in flea products is that the product kills adult, kills young, and keeps eggs from hatching. The last is not found in all flea products, so you wind up with lots of new fleas and have to buy all the products over again.

Use a flea shampoo recommended for KITTENS on your little kitten......use sevin dust in your YARD only........and get a flea spray (there is a good one in a white can at Walmart) on your carpets. If you treat the carpet and yard, the fleas will no longer bother your kitten. You cannot put a flea collar on a kitten, the toxins in the collar are very poisonous to one so little! Use sevin dust right before it rains, that's the best way to get it activated. Just follow instructions on the bag. I've got 5 dogs, 5 cats, and NO fleas although I live in Georgia! We do a yearly treating of the yard and house, and use those once a month treatments on the cats and dogs and are flea-free. Thank goodness! I HATE fleas! :)

Do not use seven on a kitten..It would kill it. Seven is a garden pesticide. Call a vet and ask what they reccomend for a kitten that age. Some animals under a certain age you can't use certain flea remedies on.
try flea bombs in the house.

frontline is the BEST thing I have ever used for the cats. use that and if your cats go outside, shut them out for a few hours and use a flea bomb on the house, then give it a really really thorough vaccum. If you donh't know what something is, don't use it on the cats as you never know what might happen. Forntline is dead easy and you only have to do it once a month. you can get it for trom the vets and its only about £12 for 3 months use (its so good mine don't even need it every month).

Do not use that on your kitten unless you want it to die. See your vet but in the mean time use Dawn Dish Detergent to get rid of your kittens fleas.

You CANNOT put seven dust ON THE KITTENS!!! It is for use in the YARD!!!
Use FRONTLINE PLUS on the kittens!!
The stuff at WalMart like Hartz, BioSpot etc is CRAP and very DANGEROUS!!!
