Frithjof Schuon's books may please be studied. A genius, spiritual, mystic who, surprisingly was revered by all major and cult (RedIndians) religions. He wonders at the animosity between Islam and Christianity though they are closest to each other. In Islam, it is permitted to have marriage with Christians and to partake meals with them. What else could be there !

Muhammad was one of the best ones who ever treated christians, even his jew neighbour who was throwing trash on his door, when he was sick Muhammad visited him.. God the media really made that man and that religion really look bad, in Quran it was written that we can marry Jews and Christians, be friends and there was nothing wrong.
BTW, Marianne.. You are missunderstanding some points.
on the 1st verse u quoted: We studied it, and all the teachers said that it wasn't what u got.. It meant that believers shall not be friends with Christians and Jews against Muslims.. but there was nothing that was written about being friends, if what u understood was right, then why is it written that its ok to marry Jews and Christians??
The thing u got from the verse was the same thing Bin Laden and other jerky Islamist terrorists and builded all of this hatred on verses that needs clear mind like this, the Quran is ordering us to be friendly and nice when we don't see any bad thing happens to us from christians and jews.
the 2nd verse: it was said on one of Muhammad's battles, and if u consider that its on what hapenning now u r right, but thats when its war and when they start it cuz we were never ordered to harm innocent people.
the 3rd verse: it was said on whats happened in the 10th year in the islamic calendar, when Muhammad attempted to return Mecca from his Tribe and they worshipped their ancestor's statues and THEY WEREN'T CHRISTIANS OR JEWS!!!
the 4th verse: again it was meant to the ones who harmed Muslims, I dont know maybe the ones now, in the past, maybe later we dunno.
the 5th Hadith: We believe that Jesus has been resurcted and he IS still alive with god, and he will return and fight the anti-christ before the apocalypse, and he'll tell you christians that what you are doing is wrong and he'll teach you the right way.
the 6th verse: Jesus is only a prophet and he's with god now, we believe in him and we were ordered to adore him more than we do to our parents like other prophets.. and there IS some vandalism that was done by some people in a period of time to the Bible, and thats why god sent a new prophet and god promised that this time he'll protect it himself, and I can't see any vandalized Quran, BTW think.. why would god send a new prophet if the last one's teachings are still on and right..
You got some wrong things in the bible, I dunno how many books but it seems like they re-wrote the book on their way and vandalized some stuff.
last word: PLEASE READ ABOUT ISLAM AND THEN JUDGE

i do not see what the question is, unless you have already answered it...
The islamic teachings also say this:
Qur’an 5:51 “Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends.”.
Qur’an 5:17 “Verily they are disbelievers and infidels who say, ‘The Messiah, son of Mary, is God.’”
Q9.14: Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace, and asist you against them and heal the hearts of a believing people.
Q2.191: And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.
Q8.12: When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.
Bukhari:V4B55N657 “Isa (Jesus) was just a human being before his death. On the Day of Resurrection he (Jesus) will be a witness against the Christians.”'
Qur'an 4.171 “O people of the Book (Christians), do not be fanatical in your faith, and say nothing but the truth about Allah. The Messiah who is Isa (Jesus), son of Mariam, was only a messenger of Allah, nothing more. He bestowed His Word on Mariam and His Spirit. So believe in Allah and say not Trinity for Allah is one Ilah (God)…far be it from His Glory to beget a son.”
Jesus and God the Father both said Jesus was the Son of God. It is a very clear teaching, and does not refer to biology, but the the spirit.
Yes, christians are to love everyone, but they cannot deny the words of Jesus or the Father God, which are plainly written in the original bible.
