when people who were born in america say that they deserve it and others don't?

i believe that people born in america are just plain lucky and thats that. they do not actually "deserve" america cuz they did jack squat to obtain citizenship except be born.

the only people that actually "deserve" this country are the people that give to the community and help out. not the people who rant and complain on the internet about how much they seserve this country more than any other person who was born as well.

i'm just wanting to see if anyone agrees and why or why not.

also, this is a chunk of land that God gave to us (for those that believe)

so really, and i'm just going out on a limb here, nobody has rights to this land but humanity itself

it is a gift from Him

i'm not saying at all that being born in america isn't enough to be a citizen. i'm saying that it is a blessing and nothing more.

it doesn't mean that you "deserve" america anymore than someone that wan't born in america.

I agree with you 100 percent! Also, we are all god's children, and he loves us equally(papers or not!). He made this land for all of his children, they are all welcome here.

Well that is like saying someone born into a rich family doesn't deserve it. While that may be true, it does not change the fact that they were born into it.... I was lucky to be born here, I freely admit that. Not everyone will get the chance to live here though, while unfortunate, that is life. I have no desire to see my country turn into the countries other people are fleeing to come here., and that is why we need border security.

If you believe in God, then you should also believe in following the laws of the land, because it says you are supposed to do that in the bible. Romans Chapter 13.

Being born in a place does not determine who or what you are. Those are choices you make throughout your lifetime. I am born to a great & wonderful people with a rich history that is connected to this land which is called America. I choose to be an American citizen not because I was born in America, because I believe in what America stands for, And I will defend the American way of life. That is one of my many freedoms & resposibilities as an American citizen. And you are correct, We are truly blessed to be residing in this wonderful land of opportunity which is called America. We do have laws, which need to be followed, not just by American citizens either but by all who would remain here.

I agree that there are a lot of american born citizens that complain, if it's not illegal immigrants, is african americans, mexican americans, chinese. They have their moments where they pick what group they hate at the time. I've seen more dumb americans than dumb illegals. I've seen some illegals that speak better english than american born citizens. Illegals aren't doing any harm really. If they work with a fake or bogus SSN the taxes paid to that SSN go to the SSI which the government keeps, so they are contributing. As far as taking jobs, why don't these people complain to outsourcing? Outsourcing is growing everyday, with millions and millions of people loosing their jobs every year because corporations find it easy to move to india to pay cheap salaries and avoid taxation. Well if the companies do this to avoid taxation and a minimum wage salary for it's workers aren't they doing something un-american? They're avoiding taxation? Some people just need to educate themselves and stop pointing fingers, illegal immigration is a mask they wear to cover up their prejudice and hatred that is all.

Everything is a gift from Him. However, if I work hard to earn money, one reason is to make my children's way a little easier. I would try to work for my grandchildren as well, but I don't really think I'll make that much money, so I try to build our country to a better place for our children, and leave my grand children to my own children.

If our parents/grandparents etc came here and built what is here, I think we DO have more right to it than do others. With your philosophy, what do you think our schools would look like in 10 years? They'd be flooded with the poor of countries much poorer than Mexico. Without immigration controls, all countries would settle into the lowest economic factor. Dafur might go up a bit, but the population in poor countries means that BOTH the United States and Mexico would suffer a major drop in quality of life.

So, being born here is not a good enough reason to be a citizen? I wish Americans would stop being so darn Anti-American and just appreciate the fact that we live in the greatest country in the world. Quit whining.

We Do deserve it a hell of a lot more than illegals who just come here to steal what is not theirs! At least my parents, grandparents, etc, came here legally, and helped make this country what it is today!

"mocosa cabezona" are you really THAT stupid? I can not believe you said "if they work with fake or bogus social security #'s the taxes go into the ssi so they are contributing" what the hell about the INNOCENT victims who have had their SSI# stolen by illegals? You really are a retard!

When you are born in America, you don't deserve America, you ARE America. It's not the land that makes America, it's the citizens.

As an American, I really don't give 2 craps who comes here, as long as they do it legally, and become active, productive citizens. Not welfare receiving, crack smoking, thieves. Also our government needs to stop giving these immigrants so much money they can open their own 7-11. I can't get that much money given to me fro m the government, why the hell do these people?

I live in America and I wouldn't say I deserve it -- but I would say that because I do live here, I want to preserve our great quality of life. I don't think we could do that if we allowed everyone to come here who wanted to. It'd be like cutting the pie into smaller and smaller slices.
