The ability to be fertile all year round would probably be the right answer. Our offspring require a protracted amount of time to develop and be capable of looking after themselves, which would probably lead to us having few children if we behaved like other animals.
Interesting idea though. Can you imagine the impact on maternity services at the time of birth!!!

Because then we would have a baby boom again, except every year. And when the children all hit retirement the gov. is afraid there will not be enough money or health insurance.

Even though theres no season, summer don't half make people much more horny. It must be all the skimpy clothes, barbecues, beer, flirting and sun stroke!
