My wife and I call them Slutz dolls. Who in there right mind would bring these things in there house? And why?

I would never want to portray that image to my little girls (when I have them). If any girl walked out of the house looking like the Bratz dolls do, every dog of a man would be all over them... disgusting.

I thought your question was unbiased until I read the second part. You may want to take that part out!
I do not let my daughter play with Barbies nor did I let her play with Bratz because of the unfair body shape that these dolls have.

However, some of my relatives (whom I did tell she could not play with dolls like this), bought one for her and a ton of accessories. So she has one. We have discussed it and she understands that it's not the BEST thing, but she knows why I have issues with it. I think as long as she understands why I don't like them, then she views the doll differently. She doesn't really play with it all that often anyway.

I would never let my child play with Bratz. I have a boy so it's not really a problem, but if he was a girl I wouldn't. They are just so scantily clad and wear too much makeup. The dolls are only contributing to the problem of kids growing up too fast. My Scene Barbies are okay though, they are a little more modern, but they're still fully clothed and not slutted-out.

Although I would never call these dolls that name in front of my children, I understand your angst over them.
I have a hard time with the idea of little girls playing with dolls that are older than them. Dolls were originally designed to teach our daughters how to "play Mommy", and mimic mom they did. This gives both child and adult a clear view into what we are teaching though example.
A doll that exemplifies poor dress and heavy make up use is not a good choice if we realize that children emulate what they spend their time with.
Garbage in, garbage out.

We have a few. My daughter is 4 - and she plays with them like any of her other weird dolls especially the alien dolls.

We keep the toys in the realm of make-believe and bazaarity.

The last thing I want is to see men lusting after my 10-year old because she's dressed like a 20-year old. Let's see how long I can keep some of these fashion fads in bazaaro world.

At first, I didn't like my daughter being interested in them at all. I tried to get her to want other dolls. I thought they were street thug gangster girls who portrayed a bad image. That was until I caught thier TV cartoon one day. That has totally changed my opinion of them. They are actually just like barbie but the updated version. They are very into fashion, make-up & boys, they are all about being good friends to one another and keeping the mean people out. You should actually watch their cartoons sometime, you might get a totally different opinion also.

No, I stay away from anything with the name "Bratz" in it. Do I want my children to be brats? NOPE!! HAve you seen their attitude in their face? It just looks like they have a problem with authority. Nope, not my kids.

Nina S. lets her kids play with them, and she had to swear!
