This is always a big debate in theology, it seems. Some people do believe "once saved always saved" which was a great concern to my Dad who was a preacher/theologian. He worried because people acted like you are talking about.
My Dad believed like Wesley, the founder of Methodism - that we must constantly grow and mature as Christians. According to this idea we need to be constantly saved and renewed by God. One of the rare true Christians I know, an elderly retired United Methodist Bishop, recently preached that he wants to be saved again and again!
However, were you truly "saved" you would want to follow God's word and respect other people because you love God. You would not want to hurt God by continuing to sin.
Hence, I would conclude that those who are repeat, intentional sinners were never really saved. But, because we are human we sometimes accidently make mistakes, too.
And, these people of whom you speak are the really shallow people who think that sorry is sufficient as well. Sorry does not always repair the problem. One is supposed to say they are sorry and try to repair the damage. Bishop Desmond Tutu addresses this. If you are unwilling to change behavior you should not say "sorry". Sorry is supposed to mean that you will not do the same thing again! You find these people among the saved and unsaved alike.
I think that more people than we realize learn to lie to get what they want from their parents! No one is teaching the ethics of right and wrong these days.
If you are willing to lie to get what you want you will cheat in any way. And, we live in a society which glorifies sex and promiscuity. People are often treated as sex objects. Hence, not surprising that liars see someone and "want them' as an object and they are willing to lie and cheat to get what they want.
From the Roman Catholic perspective, my Mom complained that Catholic girls in her High School believed that they could do whatever they pleased on Saturday night and go be absolved by the priest the next day! And, this was in the 1940s.
Jesus died so that you would see that you don't have to engage in primitive sacrifice of animals like in the Old Testament. He died to help us jump to a higher level as humans. He lived to show an example of how to be a perfect God-like person.

That is a well query. First off regardless that, the Bible NEVER says that every one sins are identical. God does no longer bear in mind telling a lie as dangerous as whatever like baby molestation or rape. The Bible does say that every one sins make us responsible and wanting salvation, however no longer that every one sins are similarly dangerous. Consider: - The Bible talks of a few sinners having worse punishment than others. - The Bible says that if a ravenous guy steals meals and is stuck, he's effortlessly compelled to pay it again. If a man or woman steals from the deficient, the Bible shows that God hates even worse. So essentially we must no longer fail to remember any sin, however the Bible does make it transparent that a few sins are worse than others.

That fallacy comes from self-interpretation of the Bible, or adhering to a "feel good 'religion' of convenience that teaches what one wants to hear."
One cannot be sure of his Salvation until he is in Heaven. As one can be 'saved' at the last moment, one can 'experience a crisis of faith' at the last moment and 'be lost.'
I don't honestly know if people sin because they believed themselves saved, but I do know that the mechanics of Salvation are not as simple as proclaiming and believing in you heart that accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior guarantees you Heaven. Although it is probably a good starting point!
Catholics believe that Salvation is an ongoing process and therefore avoid occasions of sin as much as possible. It is not a 'once saved, always saved' deal because it is in Man's nature to sin, and sin is anything that alienates Man from God.
I do believe that most people nowadays lose their Salvation through... Indifference.

Everyone is born into sin...there's no getting aound that. We all have to repent and proclaim God as the Father of all. By this He meant not to keep doing the same things we had been doing that were sinful. We have to pray everyday and ask Him to forgive us of our daily sins. Some people turn their backs on God because they probably asked for something and God said "NO" or maybe they lost someome close to them and asked why. They didn't get the answer they were hoping for. Either that or they weren't looking and listening with their hearts for the answer. They tune Him out of their lives for many reasons.

I think in most cases no. What I think is that honesty is the problem. Infidelity is not the issue, looking and being attracted to someone else are just your basic instincts, but when you act on those instincts behind the back of your spouse/significant other you have committed betrayal. I once had a very beautiful woman come into my office and try to take me out. I told her that if she called my wife and she was O.K. with it I was all about it. I even went so far as to hand her the phone. Needless to say, she didn't know how to respond to that. Do not try to suppress yourself, that leads to acting out on the impulse.

He did die for your sins. As Paul said in Romans, "Shall we go on sinning so God's grace may increase? No way!" (my paraphrase) Just b/c we're under grace doesn't mean we have freedom TO sin...just freedom FROM sin.
And sinning doesn't send the message of Christ to the rest of the world.
