I used to go to church reguraly, and I am thinking about going back. When I took my brother to the laundramat yesterday there was a book there titled "The Ten Commandments Twice Removed." First I mocked it and laughed, but I ended up taking it to read. Also, I drove by the church I used to attend and the messege for Sunday is "How to be a Joyous Person." I have wanted that for months now. On to my question, do you think that it is [God] showing me that I need to be in church or is that all in my imagination? To whoever reads this, thank you for taking the time to do so and taking the time to provide an answer. I truly appreciate it. ***serious answers only please***

you need not go to church in order to have faith but if it makes you more of a joyous person, go.
Personally i don't think He is trying to tell you something.
Carry God in your heart every day of the week, not only on the sabbath.
wishing you well.

I don't necessarily think that God is making all of this happen, but I think it is likely that He is guiding your heart and making you more sensitive to the things that have been out there all along. When we begin to turn our hearts to Him even a little, He rejoices and welcomes us home. I went without religion for many years (even called myself an athiest for a time), but when I began thinking about finding God again and figuring out whether or not I believed in Him, I was guided in small ways, just as you are now. May God continue to guide you.

I believe God gives us signs and sometimes those signs come in words from other people, and in tracts, and in His word. I think if God keeps showing you something I believe one should take heed, but I am not the best one to give advice either. I am like you and out of church. My Spirit wants to get up and go but the flesh says no your tired, and such. I wish you the best.

The fact that you think He is trying to reach you is the answer you are searching for.
John 15:19
"As it is you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world."
John 17:20
"I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message."

green14775,
"Is [He] trying to tell me something?"
I have no doubt after what you have written here.

"On to my question, do you think that it is [God] showing me that I need to be in church or is that all in my imagination?"
If you went to church, I think that would be a good thing. But take this with you: Do you get to heaven by going to church? Is that what Jesus promised to his disciples?

" Go to church, and thou shalt be saved? "
No.
It is faith that He wants. Trust. If going to church edifys you then do not count that out. What you don't want to find yourself doing is allowing aything in your life becoming more important than your relationship to Him. Nothing.

Jesus freely gave His life for us. Now freely give youself. Be at peace with Him. There's joy in that, isn't there?

I think that when there is something in your life you are seeking, you will start to see the answers in front of you - you just needed to know that was what you were looking for.

i believe that God is guiding you. if you seek him, he will reveal himself to you. it is more than just going to church, a personal relationship with him is the key. the fellowship of a church family is just a perk. keep seeking.

What you are experiencing is the tugging of God's Holy Spirit on your heart strings along with confirmation through circumstances that the Lord of all Creation is bringing to pass in your life. Just like the Father in the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15, God is looking with longing for you to return to Him and rejoin his family in Christ.

"And he said, "There was a man who had two sons. And the younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.' And he divided his property between them.

Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living. And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs. And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything.

"But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants."' And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.

And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'

But the father said to his servants, 'Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.' And they began to celebrate. Luke 15:11-24
