I'm using antispetic listerine and brushing my teeth 3 times a day with floss. Well I just started doing 3 times a day. I was doing 2 times a day. I wasn't really flossing as much as I do now, I think thats the problem. But how long will it take for my gums to go to its regular size. My mother may take me to the dentist to get it checked out. But I always brush, floss, and mouthwash to make sure there is no plaque or tarter anywhere in my mouth to make the gums go down! Please HELP QUICKLY!

Im not allergic to it because I just started using some of it yesterday. My mother is going to make an appointment for the dentist soon. Im thinking I have gingivitis because even my mother told me I need to improve my dental hygiene and start using more mouthwash, floss better, and brush 3 times a day.

My gums bleed but they don't hurt. But they don't bleed as much as they used to. I don't even eat as much candy as when I was younger. MY PARENTS ARE ON LOW CARB DIETS. SO HALF THE STUFF IN THE HOUSE HARDLY HAS SUGAR! It could be problems from when I was younger. But I rarely eat alot of candy.

sometimes if you overbrush or brush too vigorously the gums can become swollen , if they are not discolored (like green or brown) then i would just assume that its because of the brushing . sometimes when you floss you can also tear the gums slightly to cause additional swelling . mouthwash is not necessary to use as you brush enough times a day , but if you insist on using it then i would suggest only once at night or once in the morning to reduce bad breath . if there is pain in your gums or bleeding then you may have to go to the dentist , you might also have an abcessed tooth , which is an infected cavity . only your dentist can be sure so it would be wise to get it checked up on . hope this helps.

Girl, you are brushing too much. Once or twice a day is enough. (Early morning and Night before you sleep)

Buy toothbrush with SOFT bristle. You are 13, so get a SOFT one.

Lastly, flossing is not really needed unless you always indulge in starchy food. Once a week is fine.

Brush properly is the important thing. Brush up and down (not sideways), the inner side of the teeths as well, and drink enough water everyday. Perhaps you are allergic to listerine. If you brush properly, listerine is not always needed.

Best advice, go see your family dentist and seek help. They will check if you have any infection or cavities.

Good luck.

Well maybe your brushing your teeth to hard, at the age of 13 I don't think you should be having these problems. You're using an antiseptic listerine, that could be the problem maybe you're allergic to it. Please go see your dentist before the problem only gets worse. Drink some warm salt water, and keep your hands out of your mouth don't pick at it. Good Luck and Take Care.

I think you have taken the hygiene a little overboard. Some store bought stuff is very strong. Wash your mouth out three times a day with salt water. Don't swallow though, just rinse and spit out. I'm not sure how long it will be till the swelling subsides.

Go to the dentist. You're just nervous because school will begin soon. The dentist will probably prescribe you something to gargle with and eliminate bacteria...it'll go down in a couple of days, and all will be fine.
