Depends on what your activities are today. Your body really needs that down time to reset, but if you aren't driving or working, perhaps laying low today and going to bed at a really decent time may get you back on track. You'll still feel a bit off tomorrow though. Be good to yourself.

I've often had this problem and usually go for keeping awake till I can go to bed at a more normal bedtime. However, this can be difficult.. so if you want you can try staying up until 4-6 and the next day stay up a few more hours than the previous. I would only recommend doing this on the weekend or when you have no important commitments/plans for that time.

You could also try taking a short nap, but if you're really tired and end up sleeping 8 hours (or so)that would cause a delay in your sleep schedul fix.

By 6am or 7am I am usually so tired if I have stayed up and not slept. I usually try to go back to bed and sleep. This usually works and I will then sleep for at least 8 hours. As its a bit later in the day now, depending on whether you are in UK. I am in UK and its 13.37pm now. I would go and get some sleep eg 3 or 4 hours at least and then get up and do something before going to bed tonight. If you are tired enough you should sleep. The other issue is obviously why you could not sleep. Having had depression in the past I know what it is like to find it hard to sleep at night.

Writing in a private diary helped me to express my worries, concerns, thoughts etc. I used to read as well and then when I was tired enough go back to bed and sleep. I hope you can get all the professional health support you need eg visit your doctor who would then refer you to the relevant psychiatrist/psychologist/counsellor etc depending on the reasons behind your lack of sleep or other issues which you have in your life.

I hope this advice helps.

I'm a night person myself, so when I get off work at 7am I come home unwind, and sleep for awhile. I don't sleep like everybody else because I'll sleep for a few hours in the am, and then sleep some more in the evening.

To answer your question: sleep now for at least a couple hours, then go to sleep a little early tonight. Your body will thank you later. trust me.

Stay awake until you really can't keep your eyes open. If you can't relax enough soak in a hot bath and listen to some of your favouirte songs that are relaxing of course. If you need to lay down and chillout do so but try not to stress about not sleeping. Eventually you will run out of energy and your body will shut down, if you do not listen to it you may cause yourself ill health, which is worse than just not being able to sleep. some times just resting may be better than not sleeping, go rest for a little while

If you missed most of your sleep then try to stay up as late as you can, otherwise you will be up too early the following morning not being able to sleep. But if you missed just a couple of hours then have a sleep during the day but not too long (just make up for what you missed).

Might as well stay up till tonight. In fact the best way to make sure you will fall asleep tonight is to exercise or take part in some physical activity at least 6 hours before you go to bed. Hope that helps :)

Depending on your health, your age & job title (like a bus driver or heavy machine operator). Try taking a nap now then to bed early tonight.
I sleep when I can, on dialysis days I can't sleep at all, thats why it is 6 am and I have not been to bed yet.

Put two tennisballs in a sock next to eachother
lay them in the back of your neck and try sleep with them as you lay on you back. Put the tennisballs on a pillow so they wont move.
The commercial stillpoint inducer you can use without a pillow
They will greatly improve your sleep abilities
This is a stillpoint inducer
It creates total stillness for your nervous system and gives your body a chance to calm and or shut down to totally relax
Allow it in your neck for about 10 minutes that should do the job.
Massage your jaw and temples softly, rub them for a bit

sleep well!

I'd stay up until tonight. You see, we all have this internal clock, that tells us when to sleep. You'd be messing up your internal clock if you slept now. Just go to bed as usual, and you will probably get used to sleeping at that time if you haven't already.

But take a small 2-3 hour nap if you feel you have to.

if you can have 2 hours sleep now;

then have a milky drink before you go to bed
(at normal time tonight )

and hope-fully, you will sleep like a baby all night

it has been hot and humid here , these last few weeks
, not easy to sleep in those conditions for anyone

:o).
