Or does it depend on the school? Thanks!

It depends. Some schools actually purchase laptops for students, or supply them in class. That gives the school some control as to what content is on the computer. Many schools do allow laptops in for student use, but there is always an issue of porn, messaging, and other disruptive problems. Bottom line, you have to find out what your particular school's policy is, and they usually have that on their website under electronic use.

The school is the only person wjo can answer this, you seem to know that, so ask them.

Bringing a lab-top seems to be a dubble edge sword. Most teachers may find it distracting and not allow you to use it even if the school says you can bring it, so it may only be a lunch/study hall device.

I would not recomend it, bring a recorder for notes, and use the lab top outside of school. In college, you will be able to use it in class.

It does depend on the school, and you'd have to be careful that no-one tried to break/steal it from you.

Call the school that you'll be attending in the fall. You won't know if you don't ask.
