Both are motor that use to turn something.
DC == direct current
AC == alternative current.
If you need power that to turn a heavy load if better use the AC motor which some came with single phase like our home supply or 3 phase the been use in the industry.
DC motor is mostly for toys that run on battery but some do use in machine that had regulate the supply to DC.
It depend on your application to use which type of motor.

DC means Direct Current and moves in only one direction. AC means Alternate Current and moves in opposite direction at different timing .
Electricity is transmitted in the form of Alternate Current from power stations to the power outlets in your homes to run appliances like vacuum cleaner, fridge, television etc. As AC motors have more power when compared to DC motors; they are used in the automation line for movement of loads.
At home, the fan is using a AC motor (but maybe a cheaper type).
In the automation line, Direct Currents are derived from power supplies whereby alternate current enter power supplies that have rectifiers to convert alternate current into, for example, 24 VDC for the machine to turn on or off a solenoid.
DC motors are used when they need to control the speed and maintain accuracy of the application, for example to control the amount of dispensing fluid.
At home, the remote control car should be run by DC motor as they used batteries. (Batteries are stored DC power.)
Another use of example of use of DC is your personal computer. Alternate current enters your PC from the power outlet into a power supply inside your PC (Pls Do Not Open Your Personal Computer Power Supply As There Is High Voltage Stored In The Capacitor EVEN IF THE PC IS UNPLUGGED FROM THE POWER SOURCE!!!) The power supply converts the AC into DC forms of 3.3VDC, 5VDC, and 12VDC.
Anyone pls feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

DC is direct current, AC is alternative current. Dc motors are the one run by batteries like toys. AC motors are the one's plugged at wall outlets, blender, aircon, etc.

in a DC motor armature(rotor) is a (pairs of) permanent magnet,and stator has windings. it uses DC power source(e.g batteries) for running.DC motor can also be used aa a generator.
an AC motor does not have any permanent magnet.the other facts mentioned above,for DC motor are redundant
