sorry, the license is for that machine only, but it looks like you got a real bargain there, when you say it tests fine,is that just booting up....do a diagnostic
a).first check the hard drive...is it making any noise,or clicking, then go into my computer icon, and where it says local disc right click and select properties....click tools tab and pick error check when asked tick repair any errors...you will then be told to re-boot...this will repair any file errors
b)you must then scan for any viruses and spyware, this sometimes happens when you buy computers at auctions, they are sold with infection on the drive
c)go to run and type...dxdiag this is a graphic test and will check to see if your graphic card is stable and working well
d)open up your case and clean all dust from the inside, this p.c could have been on a shelf or under a table for months and has probally gathered lots of dust, pay close attention to cpu fan,,
finally go to http://www.sisoftware.net/ ,and download si-soft sandra lite...this is a diagnostic tool and will help you find out if everything is working as it should and will let you know info if you wish to upgrade
good luck

You need to check to make sure that license is for that machine. Have you went to the windows update site yet? It will either give you all the updates, or it will red flag the important updates and tell you whether or not it is in fact the right license. If you try to use it on another computer, it will just tell you that it is an unofficial license. Good luck and hope you get it figured out.

For that style of money purchase new. From public sale you on no account comprehend if it works, in a 2nd hand preclude ought to be waiting to objective it, yet this would possibly not instruct the disk has no longer suffered deadly vibration harm, or that its' battery is any solid, or an mind-blowing form of alternative issues like non-quit overheating.

good deal hope it works OK
as to your question the licence relates to the version installed on the PC you don't say if you got the disc for XP
legally it one copy one machine
if you stretch it you can get it onto a couple of machines just don't register them to close together

To find out if your PC has `genuine windows xp pro` click on the link - then click on the small letterbox displaying "Validate Windows".
This will only take seconds and will verify if your windows xp is genuine.

Just entitles you to the machine and the OS license on it specifically. Cannot even transfer that license to another machine.
