Is he and his followers being truly religious? or are they going over board with their view points and giving all other religious denominations a a bad name?

While i agree with a persons right to protest, i disagree with someone expressing being happy for the death of a solider as in the case of Phelps and his followers.
What are your thoughts?

They are going WAY overboard in their protests. I think I can safely say that 99% of Christians disagree with his message and what he is doing. He is beyond fanatical. His church is mostly his family. I'm doubly embarrassed at his existence because I'm also from Kansas. The entire state can't stand him. He came to where I live to protest at a military funeral, but he didn't make much of an impact because the Patriot Guard (motorcyclists who sheild familys) was there and our local media completely ignored them.

Are you talking about the psychos that were protesting at the soldiers funeral saying that God wanted him dead?
That is NOT religion. Those people are a group of family and friends that need serious psychological counseling. Has nothing to do with Christianity. They are an insult and a disgrace to all humanity.

I think that he and his followers are going to be very surprised one day when they find their eternal accomadations not to their liking. They are definitely not what I would call followers of Christ. He never taught such hatred and abuse.I think what they are doing especially at these poor soldiers funerals is disgusting. May God have mercy on them I don't think I would if it were my son or husband.
