If your engine is still running than the advise the other people posted is good. I got 250,000 miles out of my little Excel and it was still running when I sold it. Just change the timing belt (IMPORTANT!) and be sure to change that oil. You may be amazed at the amount of miles you get. Unfortuately my Sonata blew at 100,000 miles. I paid a total of $2400 to change the engine. Bought the motor for $800 and the rest was labor. Then I hit a deer a few months later. Just wasnt my car to have....

It will cost around $2500 - $2800. The engine could be purchased
for around $1000 and then new belts, hoses, accessories, fluids, chemicals, shop supplies, and labor could easily cost $1500 - $1800. If you are planning to do it yourself, you would save around $1200, but no warranty

Your engine is good for another 120,000 miles if you just change the oil and the transmission fluid, Just make sure you change the timing belt every 60,000 miles, and the water pump every other timing belt.

More than the car is worth, unless you get another engine from a junk yard or re-built one with low miles.

more than the car is worth. You would never recoup the investment if you are car is totaled after the new engine is put in.
