Really tough to say, I've had the stuff in my refrigerator for months and eaten some only to discover that the date was 2 months ago. I think your nose and taste buds can give you a pretty clear indication of whether its good or not. The date on the container is a reference to the optimum taste and flavor, in other words, its at its best if eaten by 00/00/00.

Months later? No, toss it and buy some fresh yogurt.

A week is no problem, and if your fridge is kept very cold and not opened over and over all day long, then as one person already mentioned, use your nose.

When in doubt, toss it out!
