I have serious foot problems from 5 surgurys and I recently bought a good exercise bike ($400.00). It took no time at all to improve my conditioning, lost a lot of weight and really saw an improvement on my cardio health. I even got some small weights with it that i could lift with my arms while I was riding the bike. It works out every part of your legs and ankles every well. FEEL THE BURN!!!

Running in the water exercise class is a great way for us weak kneed people. Contact your local gym that has a pool. Bike riding is also really great it can get your ankles and whole body back into shape- start slow and build up.
And of course running will work out the whole body not just one part. Why aren't you walking?

Actually, you can still run. Buy Fish Oil supplements, they really help with joint pain. I had pain in my knee when I ran, so a Herblist friend of mine suggested Fish Oil and Flax Seed Oil, I bought the Fish Oil and it works wonderful. I hope this helps you out. At least try the Fish Oil.

running works the entire body.
If you have ankle or knee problems, try the elyptical. Bike's good too but you have to peddle really hard to get the same benefit.
How about low impact aerobics?
