Will our human race ever find a way to resolve differences other then killing?

Yes, but it will be through killing that peace will occur. It's sort of like that movie "Serinitry" where the ASSASSINE was on a mission to kill a girl of special powers in order to create a world of peace and prosperity. He spoke his piece to a man who was protecting her and the man told him of the irony of him seeking peace through the girls death. Then the assassine said, "oh no, I will not be going to the new world."

Maybe, if everyone would just accept the Ten Commandments,
and leave all other religious doctrine to the individual.

All governments enact thousands of laws to enforce the Ten Commandments.

Yet, wars are fought in the name of religion.

No. It is in our nature to destroy ourselves. At our core, we are killers, and the thin veneer of civilization has only masked this latent tendency. Those in power (or perceive that they have power) will always use death as a method of control. Those who live on the edge of civilization will kill out of desperation. Those who are jealous will kill out of jealousy. It's a sad fact that we are little more than animals with iPods.
