Reagan was the last sitting Pres. to extend the voting rights act, due to an election, as Bush has done this time around. What is wrong with American to denie the right to African American their given right, as others, why keep the punishment going on till the next 25 years when the voting rights act will not be extended due to the fact the many young african americans will not have the same motivation as members of the 50's and 60's civil rights movement...due to die at the hands to American congressman. Then this is apparent as to what the real future agenda is. Are African Amerians pose the real threat to American? How about China, Japan, Mexico, Canada born in this country. You Americans need to wake up! You are attacking the wrong culture.

African Americans have never been the reason for this act passing Congress now. It's a election year stunt. The largest minority in the USA is Hispanics, where have you been for 10 years. African Americans have voted for Bush now twice and helped get Bush in Office. That is also fact.
The voting rights Act is far deeper than race. It's about "no poll tax" to vote. It's also about Blackwell cheat ting in Ohio to get Bush in office. Republicans know that when no one votes they win. Republicans will and have done all that they can to stop any votes that are not Republican votes. Long lines and junk machines, or not enough machines in Democratic districts in Ohio prove my point.
Race discrimination is a factor, Republicans have a long History of discrimination. Not the main factor in this stunt.

If the voting rights act expired NO ONE would lose the right to vote. Any attempt to interfere with ANY ONEs right to vote would still be UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Those who support the act are either misinformed or political opportunists.
