To be an atheist, does it mean that I am smarter than Christians?

Interesting answers..... It seems to me that by posting this question the way I did actually got some intelegent answers, some a little insulting but thats okay.... I was actually trying to see who would do most of the insulting..... well you can judge for yourselves who gave intelegent answers and who gave somewhat insulting answers..... and just to clear the air... I am...(opps ran out of characters)....

To believe in Christ or not to believe in Christ has nothing to do with IQ. It has everything to do with wisdom. The wise seek God, the foolish say that there is no God. It is your choice as to whether you want to be wise or a fool. Jesus loves you, even if you are foolish.

If you are an atheist how can you be smarter than a Christian? (mind you I am a muslim) I do not think that there is a case of being smarter or dumber but what you believe in and why you do so. But think about it how can you be an antheist? An antheist does not believe in the existense of God so who do you say has created everything? It was just there? But there had to be something/ someone to create it all so who was it? The trees, the sky, the animals, the humans, food, water everything who made it all?????

TANCREDO NEVES (President of Brazil): During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency. Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.

CAZUZA (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):During a show in Canec (Rio de Janeiro ), whilst smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: "God, that's for you." He died at the age of 32 of AIDS in a horrible manner.

THE MAN WHO BUILT TITANIC: After the construction of Titanic,a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: "Not even God can sink it!"
The result: I think you all know what happened to theTitanic.

MARILYN MONROE: She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He is a preacher and Evangelist and the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said: "I don't need your Jesus!"
A week later, she was found dead in her apartment.


BON SCOTT: The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:
"Don't stop me, I'm going down all the way, wow the highway to hell".
On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had choked on his
vomit.


CAMPINAS/SP IN 2005 In Campinas, Brazil a group of drunk friends went to pick
up another friend. The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the
drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter -holding her hand, who
was already seated in the car: "MY DAUGHTER, GO WITHGOD AND MAY HE PROTECT YOU",
She responded: ONLY IF HE (GOD) TRAVELS IN THE BOOT, CUZ INSIDE HERE IT'S ALREADY

Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in afatal accident,
everyone had died, the car could not be recognized what type of car it was,
but surprisingly, the boot was intact.
The police said there was no way the boot could have remained intact. To their
surprise, inside the boot was a crate of eggs, none were broken.


Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was
given so much authority as the name of Jesus. Many have died, but only Jesus died
and rose again, and he is still alive. JESUS!!!

If you are so smart, what say ye now? Don't be caught dead without Jesus. You'll have a hell of a time for sure, but I don't think you would want to.

No. You have to explore the world more seriously. There is some power which is controlling the world and the whole universe. You know that even the smallest part of an element, atom has definite rules and power which governs the revolution of electrons in different orbits. LIke this there is a power who is called God.

Only a fool thinks he has all the answers. Many people who belong to religions believe what they are told and believe that they hold all the "right" answers, which is only submissive belief based on greed and power and fear and brainwashing, not spirituality. Spirituality isn't a gated community for just the "right-minded". All humans are spiritual and wonder about where we come from and what the meaning of life is all about. But, some people are so weak and fearful, though, that they make borders and fences and clubs and man-made rules to divide and harm each other rather than foster understanding and tolerance. Some people live in gated communities and participate in exclusive "organized spiritualities" (religions) to "reserve a seat in heaven" and promote their own advatage and self-comfort. They do this to feel better about themselves merely because it's cheaper on the character to feel that they are better than other people rather than actually being better people and helping others, and all because they are weak and fearful, which is truly pathetic if you think about it. Many people, on the other hand, are braver, more independent thinkers and glean belief from what they experience, and they believe that humans don't know everything. Open mindedness, curiosity and independent, critical thinking create more neural pathways than does blind faith and believing everything you are told. Playing real football builds more muscle than playing fantasy football, so to say. For example, people who join destructive cults tend to have mothers who are extremely "religious" or superstitious. Primitive, magical-thinking based religions in Africa misled simple-minded, uneducated people there about HIV/AIDS and that ungodly stupidity is costing humanity millions of lives and untold suffering. Power-hungry religions, such as the Catholic church in an ungodly decision, led tens of thousands, if not millions, of people to their deaths and through that viral sickness because the church banned condoms that would have helped prevent the disease. Again, that evil decision was about power, not the goodness of "God". Rather than use the common decency and brains that God gave us, the Catholic church banned condoms and let so-called "undesirable" people die simply as punishment for not going along with some morbid club "rule", just as Christians and others once declared that women don't have souls, that it's evil to bathe, that bacteria don't exist and it's ok to pour human waste in the village well, that the earth is center of the universe, that you'll go to hell for using a fork or eating chocolate kind-of-stupidity. And, the stupidity of all the wars going on in the world today certainly doesn't hail from atheists, but from greedy bloodsuckers who use the simple-minded to fight their wars for them, and from religious people and the fear and intolerance that their magical-thinking and ignorance produce.

No. All it is to be either Atheist or Theist is that you've made a decision about the existence and nature of God that you've really no right to make. They're both arrogant and dishonest standpoints based on the absence of proof. The difference is that atheists don't build castles on that foundation.

Not necessarily. I've noticed that online the Atheism tends to run towards Scientific Atheism... where one is an atheist and relies soley on science to define reality. But in the real world, not all Atheists even care about science THAT much.

الإنسان او المنطق . هناك إختلاف و جدل حول تعريف الملحد او الإلحاد فلا يوجد لحد هذا اليوم تعريف دقيق لكلمة الإلحاد فبعض الملحدين الذين توصلوا الى فكرة الإلحاد بعد دراسة عميقة لجميع الديانات السماوية و غير السماوية عبورا بالفلسفات المتعددة حول هدف الحياة يرفضون رفضا قاطعا ان يوضعوا في نفس طبقة شخص ملحد نتيجة عدم إمتلاكه لتلك المعلومات.

هناك على الأغلب إلتباس بين مصطلح الإلحاد و مصطلحات أخرى مثل اللا دين و اللاأدرية ويرجع هذا الإلتباس الى تداخل هذه التيارات مع بعضها و عدم وجود حدود واضحة تميز تيارا معينا عن الآخر ولكن هناك إجماع على إن اللاأدري يؤمن بإن إستعمال دين او فلسفة معينة لتأكيد او نفي وجود الخالق الأعظم مهمة مستحيلة و غير مثمرة ولاتضيف شيئا الى السؤال الأزلي حول معنى الحياة وكلمة اللاأدري هي ترجمة لكلمة إنجليزية مشتقة بدورها من كلمة لاتينية Agnosis وتعني حرفيا عدم المعرفة.

No it just means that as an Atheist I choosen to not believe in god and not follow a religion. But also it means that I do not like tohave religion pushed onto me

Atheist - One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods.

It doesn't say anything in there about an Atheist being smarter or dumber than anyone else it just says they deny the existance of god.
