Doesn't sound to me that you painted them "for" them but more for you to make a statement. If you painted it for them you would have painted what they would appreciate. I think you are looking for a fight and if not you have one anyway.

Eve was Hebrew.
Most people believe the black skin came in when Cush was alive.
White skinned people, by the way, appeared from the northern colder regions of Europe, and grew southwest into the world.

Just take it easy, you can paint better pictures that can make your grandmother like it. Try it. But don't force your self to do that if you're tired. If she still upset, maybe you can give her more things that was her favourites.

You touched at racial tenderspot. You might want to ask people how they want these figures painted. Some people actually believe that Jesus is White Anglosaxon and Protestant ( a W.A.S.P.)
