My child (9 years) reverses most of his numbers when writing on a daily basis. The numbers are 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9. He writes them facing the opposite direction. He does not write them upside down. He sometimes reverses numbers as in 52 instead of 25, 36 opposed to 63. He reverses some of his alphabet letters, but not often. His problem is definately with numbers.

Many people assume that dyslexia (letters) or dyscalculia (numbers) are the only cause for letter/number reversal. But there are several.

If the numbers are copied for him correctly (e.g. a worksheet with everything already printed out), does he do calculations correctly and rapidly? Is his problem only with the writing process?

He may have dyscalculia, especially if his math performance is noticably below his language arts and other skills, when COMPARED WITH HIMSELF. A child can be earning B's in math, but still be fighting dyscalculia.

Review these sites, and then make a request that the school evaluate him for visual-perceptual issues and for dyscalculia. They probably will start out by refusing. Get to know your rights.

The Wrightslaw site is incredible... take your time and browse. It can prepare you well for the work you must do to help your child in school.

Here are some important sites for you to review:

Reverse Writing

A reverse cell phone lookup service I have used is http://reversephone.toptips.org

Enter the number in the system and they will tell you a lot of informations about the phone number and the person who owns it.
If they have extra details you will have to pay for the report.
Free reverse phone lookup sites generally don't provide anything interesting. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book.
The best thing is that you can get informations about anyone!!

Yea I used to do that too when I was little, same for some letters, but that wore out naturally.. 9 seems a bit old though, I was younger when I did that.. maybe you could ask the schools logopedist (don't know the english word for that), they should have some advice..
