Most Americans do. I don't because I've studied the statistics, and every study that has ever been done in a developed country has indicated that immigration (illegal or otherwise) is in the long term good for the economy. A good economy means a better life for me, so I'm happy.

The problem with most Mexicans that are coming into the country, is that they don't want to be Americans like other immigrants. They want America to be part of Mexico.
If you have 11 to 20 million people unaccounted for how can a country have security. No one ever objected to Mexicans when they came here legally and wanted to be Americans.
Why would anyone want to leave Mexico that doesn't treat them right and then want to turn America into Mexico.
When was the last time you got away without paying taxes or health care?
We are now told that people born after 1950 will not be able to collect Social Security they have been paying into, when they are old, but Mexicans are being supported by the government as soon as they get here.

Why do you keep asking in terms of 'Mexicans' and not just illegal immigrants? Then people answer your question in terms of 'the problem with Mexicans' and then we get questions asking why are we so racist?

I am only talking about illegals. Illegals are disproportionately (though not universally) criminal in other ways as well (look at prison population breakdowns versus general population breakdowns) and if those were gone, I bet a lot of the 'problem with Mexicans' that people see would go with them.

I think giving any one country the right to immigrate en masse in preference over other countries means our culture will change faster in distinct and segregated communities. There is already so much mass immigration of Latin American countries that there is culture shock in many parts of the country now, not just in border states. I think that is one thing a sane level of immigration is designed to ameliorate.

Immigration laws are supposed to take care of the indigenous society, not the foreigners who want to use the services we subsidize for poor people - services which are being tapped out.

This level of immigration, be it illegal or (through the Senate Bill) legal, is irresponsible to the people here. Look at the schools in our border states with huge percentages of illegal immigrant children in them. Our own children can no longer get a decent education. This is insane.

Yeah I think that the "Blue Collar" people are a bit afraid of that happening, of course an employer is going to hire the person that will take the less amount of money, then with all of them coming in
these big companies are buying the paper mills, the factories, and taking over companies that the working man has work at all his life just to "set up shop" for all the Mexicans,so your damn right Americans are mad at this and have all the rights to be !Yes I believe that it needs to stop, I want it to stop !

Threatened? Absolutely not.

When the influx of legal immigration is regulated (to be proportionally fair to citizens of other countries waiting in line too), then the percentage of hispanic representation will not get out of hand. Right now, however, that percentage has skyrocketed in just the last decade, with a lot of that having to do with "illegal" immigration.

So again, it has nothing to do with keeping ALL of them out. What you're hearing should be to have more control over it, not to stop it altogether.

well i think from an economic view that people should be alllowed to travel anywhere in the world as long as they have got an economic benefit to the country they are travelling to. how many peolple would live where they are not getting daily bread?

I do not think the Mexicans are travelling to America for the sake of it. they need the daily bread. i bet you if everything shut down in America and moved to Afirca they will all be headed there!

I bet the majority of Americans do. Specially when they see more Mexican flags flying than American, and when Mexicans DEMAND Spanish to be the country's official language.

They have over the years got a bad rap, people just dont want to pay for them to live here, its bad enough with the people my tax dollars support now. I dont think Americans are threatened by anyone.

Funny thing is: the stronger a country (at least the bullier the country) the more easily it feels threatened. This only shows weakness. It's the way I see you guys from afar (and God grant me to always see you from afar keeping some distance!)

I have no problem with anyone coming to the US to live and attempt to better themselves. What I dislike is the lack of assimilation into the American culture and the imposition of the Latin culture on Americans caused by misconceived ideas of fairness and tolerance.
