how do we know that those pics that we have of him now days are true?is that how he realy look like? can we ever know for sure?

we dont. those pictures are an assumption of what people think he looks like.
here in the US (if youre not fom there) jesus is depicted as a white skinned, red haired southern looking boy with a 6 pack.

I agree with what the other said about the picture of Jesus. Nobody knows. Do know the origin of those pictures? There was an event that while Jesus was carrying His cross going to Calvary, a certain woman came to wipe His face with her handkerchief. It was said that Jesus face was printed on that handkerchief and years later that handkerchief was retrieved. So that was were the pictures came to be. This was known as the Shroud of Torrent and it was a hoax.

The Bible does give a description of him but no one on this earth, alive at this very moment has not seen Jesus. If they did, it would have to be on one of those false depicted photos of him. We will all know what he looks like when we pass onto the next life.

The only Biblical description is in Mathew where he is described as plain and unattractive basically, so as not to inspire lust in anyone!!!
I don't think the man existed in reality...more likely a composite of several people and myths all rolled into one.

The Bible states in Isaiah 53 'that there was nothing attractive to draw us to him.'
Of course, Jesus would look very much like a Jew because of his heredity through Mary.

since we know that Jesus was what we now refer to as middle eastern (bethelehem/jerusalem) or hebrew, we should know that those pictures are way off. He looks like he's from Europe in the pics I've seen. his description is found in the scriptures. brass toned skin, whooly hair, ok looking dude. Sounds like a hebrew to me. You'll know him once you meet him. I love him.

We don't (Jesus was a Nazarene and according to some studies Nazarenes look very different tan the way most people thinks he looks)

Those paintings are just an artists impression. No, we won't know for sure until we meet him in heaven- assuming you are a believer.

no, we do not know what He looked like...which is fine with me...His outward appearance doesn't matter...i seriously doubt He looked like any of the representations we've seen throughout the past 2000 years, though

oh, I dunno - about 5'10" , curly hair, really cute butt (OH,MAN, I was lookin' at that Mary chick again... Jesus.)
SO - would you care if he really was like in the pictures, or perhaps a horribly disfigured freak of nature - with enough spirit and will to teach the rabid morons of those days to try to be decent to each other.
It really wouldn't matter what he looked like, only the teaching is of value.
