It goes in the order of
One Bit
One Byte
Kilobits
Kilobytes
Megabits
Megabytes
Gigabits
Gigabytes
The comparison of how many in each is as follows
One Bit = 0 or 1
One Byte = 8 bits
Kilobit = 1000 bits
Kilobyte (binary) = 1024 bytes
Kilobyte (decimal) = 1000 bytes
Megabit = 1000 kilobits
Megabyte = 1024 Kilobytes
Megabyte (decimal) = 1000 Kilobytes
Gigabit = 1000 Megabits
Gigabyte (binary) = 1024 Megabytes
Gigabyte (decimal) = 1000 Megabytes
The reason there are binary and decimal values is because binary is multiples and exactly numbers don't fit into the kilobytes and megabytes and so forth, so they round the nearest number down and call it a mega/kilo/giga byte.
