Ok a brief run down of the history.......
My son has been having some trouble with a local scrote ( sorry I couldn't think of a better way to describe him ) over an ex girlfriend.
This has been going on for quite a few months now, & so far this lad has threatened both my children, smashed up both mine & the wifes cars causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.
Now, last night he jumped my son from behind when he was on his way home from work.
The incident has been reported to the police ( AGAIN !!!! )
but i know very little will come of this as it never has in the past.

So what i need to know is...... How can I take out an injunction or something similar to try & keep this lad away from my family, house & property ????

Thanx for all the replies, but involving a solicitor will end up costing us money ( which we have little of ) after having all the repairs done on our cars.

Surely there must be simpler / cheaper alternative ???

It seems to me that the criminals have more rights than the victims these days !!!
They commit crimes on a regular basis, then get legal aid & walk free.

Oh & just to clarify ....I'm in the UK so...
No I dont have a gun, or live anywhere near the moors ( unfortunately !!!! )

go see your solicitor, and tell the police how crap they are being..
failing that get someone to take him to the moors and make him dig his own hole, the little cretin wont bother you again x

This is one of those legal situations where there are no short cuts.

The only realy way to succeed in this situation is to visit a solicitor who can take civil action against the individuals concerned.

You can if you choose do more than seek an injunction. You can also take out a civil action and sue for damages for damage to property and stress.

You need to ask the police why they are not acting under the Harassment Act 1997. This Act makes it a criminal offence to harass or intimidate someone, and the police have powers of arrest under this Act. The Police should first caution the person that if they continue to harass your son they will be arrested. If they do harass your son again the police will arrest and the person will be take to court and it would then be for the Magistrates to impose an order, the breach of which could lead to imprisonment!

If the police refuse to act then write formal complaint to the Duty Officer and ask to see the Duty Officer so as to give them the complaint.

First. Stop calling the PD. It is not their jurisdiction. Contact the Sheriff's office. That is who has jurisdiction and who will take your complaint(s). Second you can file a charge against neighbor(s) in that report. Anyone can charge anyone. It is up to you as the complainant to find the burden of proof. Third stop waisting your time writing things down. You need what every one loves and that is VIDEO. Keep a written but at least keep a VIDEO log of each incident. Video is hard to dispute where as your notes against theirs and yo uwill get laughed at.

I have had non stop harassment by a neighbour, she recruited people to damage my old little car, from holes in tyres to messing with underneath they tried to steal the car 8 times so ruined behind the old steering wheel.I saw the neighbours friends ach time, POLICE REFUSED TO LISTEN...so always DO 999, CALL THEM AND DONT FEEL guilty as I did....make them give a number/ot take name zd. I gave them reg no, not interested.
SOMEONE HAS SET THIS UP....police/council so no one will listen instead they TURN IT TO ME.

Gather evidence, report it to the police again. They're terrible thesee days, uniterested in either crime or misdemeanour, but make them have it anyway. There are no easy answers here, sorry. If it were me I'd try to have as little contact with these people as possible, again I appreciate that's not always possible. Good luck.

Make an appointment with a good solicitor. Make sure you get all the crime numbers for all the incidents form the police as well as this will help.

The police should be able to advise you on what to do.

A solicitor may cost alot.

Try the police first

good luck it sounds awful.
