okay ive gotten real tired of christians. well...more tired.

for the past X months ive been going to yahoo answers. its fun. i really get a sense that im helping others (when i answer seriously). anyways ive noticed something that, while i have noticed it before, seems to be extremely common within the chrtistian population. christians attempting to cut off people from the body of christianity whenever they do or say something that they dont agree with.

example

christian 1: god hates fags
christian 2: god loves the sinner, not the sin
christian 1: it says in the bible that gods hates fags
christian 2: youre not a true christian. you dont preach love

now before i go on i apologize for the use of the word "fag", merely an example.

so every time i see somehting like this, a christian saying that another christian is not a chistian simply because they have a dissenting opinion i do something that, while strange, i feel compelled to do. i attack christian #2.

christian 2: youre not a true christian. you dont preach love.
atheist: who are you to determine wether christian 1 is a christian or not.
christian 2: hes not, a true christian would never say that.
atheist: what exactly is a "true" christian

and so there we have it. theres my question. what constitutes a "true" christian? what are the prerequisites for being a true christian? is there some sort of membership? how does one know if he/she is a true christian? is there some sort of panel that votes on wether a person can remain a true christian or not? is there a waiting period for applying (not that im interested).

basically, who are you (christians) to tell someone wether they are or are not a true christian? if you insist on telling others that they are not true beleivers then i reccomend that you guys set up some sort of criteria so people know when they cross the line.

this also applies for us atheists, in the situaltio nwhere a christian terlls an atheist that he/she is not an atheist, that they actually beleive yet simply deny. who are you to determine the position of someone else?

thoughts? opinions?

this is the only time i will ever come to the aid of a theist (excluding drownings, burning buildings of course) in debate. no one determiens what someone is or isnt. if a person claims to be a christian then who am i to say they are not.

some responses might be: "they are known by their works". can you give me a list of acceptable works?

thanks in advance for any responses!

These Christians running there mouths off about telling others they are not. hahahhaa woooooooo

That's between them and God.

Did Jesus preach Love? absolutely He did.

Is that all He preached? No. He preached Truth. God Himself says Truth is powerful and can hurt. God hurts His own people with truth.
Do you have any idea how many churches have split because they only preach love? They don't preach Truth.

I'm a Humanist (so far) but to me, I don't personally like the xians *coughs* excuse me, Christians who preach hate, or pass God like judgement on others. I prefer to think of a true Christian, as someone who loves God, tried to live the right way, helps others, and doesn't slam their religion or judgement down anyones throat. If you want to ask them about God, they'll try to give you an honest answer. But they don't knock door to door, call people names, tell someone they will burn in Hell, or act like they are God or Jesus' right hand man. To me, they are humble, and friendly people. True ones anyway. *winks*

A Christian just believe in Jesus Christ, our Lord, our God and we try to live how Jesus told to us in The New Testament.
The question is simple:Do you believe in Jesus Christ?
The answer is simple and enough for God :Yes or No.
Jesus is God,is The Love,The Way,TheTrue,The Live and each men speaks most about is he more impressive in that moment.

That's a good one. An athiest is really a 'christian' in denial. The things I hear about the more extreme parts of these religions gets better and better.

i will't answer this through fact i do no longer think of that even people who persist with (a minimum of so a approaches as we are able to verify) each and all of the guidelines and take a seat their bottoms on the church pews each and each sunday are continuously genuine christians. Doing o pretending to do as you're envisioned to is one ingredient yet there are a heck of an mind-blowing form of hypocrites around so it does not make any odds to me whether in or outdoors church whether liberal or average or strictly adherent to non secular or pious pastimes and that i do no longer think of god could be hoodwinked by the style of, he could choose us by his standards and there is no longer something to declare that sitting in church on a sunday and pretending to be oh so righteous is a prerequisite to his judgement or to our suitable destiny. I keep in mind analyzing a number of classes suggested to come again from Jesus approximately money lenders, tax creditors, prostitutes etc against who Jesus held any disdain - extremely he illuminated the darkish places interior of each and all of the souls who have been so waiting to sentence, he preached love and forgiveness, yet interpretation as with the bible itself has been altered and interpreted by adult males plenty that's large as a handbook yet would want for use sensibly. that's my view and that i visit continuously think of that.x.playstation forgive my rambling yet I truly tend to get on my soapbox now and back!

Matthew's Gospel tells us:

'So whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them.'

That, to me, is the essence of Christianity. Sorry, if that doesn't sound bigoted enough for you, but that's an honest synopsis of my faith.

"christian 1: god hates fags"---You know they are not Christians. That group is called the "Westboro Baptist Church" and they're a hate group. >http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westboro_Baptist_Church
