Decorate or design your kitchen? Decorate does not really apply as much as some of the other rooms in the house. The kitchen design process usually involves replacing the cabinetry, counter tops, and most of the time flooring and appliances as well. You should go to a home improvement center or kitchen remodeling showroom to get some ideas. There are advantages and disadvantages to different types of cabinetry, counter top materials etc. You need to think about several things: How long you would like to stay in your home? How often you cook meals at home? How much time do you spend entertaining... and so on. You should be able to get a designer to come to your home, take the appropriate measurements and come back to you with a 3 dimensional picture of what your new kitchen could look like. This service is usually free.

Dear Mary
No matter how the Kitchen is whether it is a five star kitchen or a ordinary kitchen the best kitchen is a clean and tidy kitchen where a person feel its hygeinic to eat. And you can keep some sparkling glass wares for guest because glass looks clean when they are put in display and also keep the kitchen bright by painting the interior with a bright colour which will be hard to maintain but it gives the best look. Best of Luck Mary

If you are starting from scratch, the sky's the limit and that's probably the problem: too many choices. I would find a plate or bowl or cookie jar or canister set that I love, chose a color from it to paint and buy curtains that compliment. Don't match everything. One of my friends has a fruit theme in her kitchen and it looks boring because everything is the same: the tablecloth, the curtains, the counter pieces like coffee jars etc. She even covered her chairs with the same fabric as the curtains. That shows no imagination and isn't intersting to the eye. Pick objects that you really like to look at in the same color theme. Hang art and don't feel like it has to be "kitcheny", anything you like will work. An area rug makes a kitchen cozy and adds pizazz and color. Buy a cheap baker's rack (I got one at Big Lots) and display different teapots on it, cookbooks, photos, candles, pretty bowls and dishes. Have fun. Take your time.

Depends on the style of your Kitchen, is it country, french country, traditional, formal, contemporary, modern, retro or metro.
One of the basic..will be finding a theme.
Ask, what theme will bring out the style?
Eg., French blue Chinas will be lovely with a French country creme kitchen with a coffee glaze, or Zen style mixed with Modern... etc.
Another focus that one can base on is color.... what is your very own favorite color?
Why color? Like everyone is born an individual, everyone have a tendency to like some colors better than others. Bring it out... that personal color!
Remember!!! In interior designing every home is an individuals personal space. We designers do not have coffee in the house we design for you... you do!!! Focus is on you! Your lifestyle, your house and your space!
Realize that, then will the project be a satisfactory experience because the ultimate goal is to have a decor that brings the "you" to your house that you will be contributing the memories to!
Good Luck!

Personally I consider you would get worn out of particular layout motifs very rapidly, then you definately need to difference it time and again ! Go for texture alternatively of sample, corresponding to making use of Venetian Plaster tinted to the color of your option.(Try a exceptional hot Tuscan yellow, or a Caramel or Sage Green.) Tidy up the ceiling/ wall line with a few four-6" Crown Molding, painted a hot white and wrap that hot white up directly to the ceiling as good. Most large field and distinctiveness paint retail outlets deliver a Venetian Plaster, that they're going to tint for you. Its effortless to use with a trowel and also you are not able to make a mistake on account that its all approximately the random texture. Then so as to add sample, simply cling a work of paintings at the wall , or set up a deep shelf so that you can keep vases, pix, cookbooks, ornamental plates, and so forth.
