Prozac made me really spaced out & ill, I couldn't do anything on it even walking was too difficult.

It made my brain turn to cotton wool & I couldn't think, it was too difficult & nothing made sense.

I would sit down for a minute & suddenly realise that I'd been sitting there for four hours, where the time went I still don't know.

I slept 20 + hours a day

Barely ate as I had no appetite

I missed out on 6 months of my life due to Prozac, I don't even remember what happened in that time. I would never touch it again not even if my life depended on it

I have taken Prozac for the past 5 years and recently was coming off of it for the first time (slow taper). Approximately 5 weeks of stopping it the horrible signs/symptoms came back full force...isolating, afraid, almost that feeling of being disconnected to yourself. Happily I can say that even finding myself in that dark hole, I was able to get myself back to my doctor and am back on, with those symptoms slowly subsiding. I think this is a true miracle drug, however, realize that this is very individual.

Yes, I have very negative views about Prozac (may be because I am not a depressed guy...)

As the guy above me said, knocks away your sex drive, if the sexiest woman alive was infront of me, I wouldnt want her. And that was a bad feeling considering I am normaly high on testostrone :p

Secondly, sleep, you can not sleep after taking it, makes one light headed.

Thirdly, feel very strange, hard to describe. I am a pretty strong guy but I felt weak and that I needed to eat sugar... and drink energy drinks afterwards.

Overall, it was a bad experience. Not popping this pill again. Period.

I was taking Prozak about 6 years ago when my marriage went on the rocks. My own opion is that provided you follow your doctor's advice and aren't on them for too long because they're addictive (Can't say how long 'too long' is. I was on them for 6 months) They can help you see the 'wood for the trees' and help to guide you through that very long dark tunnel that you are in when you are depressed. I have positive feelings about Prozac. They really did help me but I also understand people's concerns about addiction.

i take it now, they work fine for me, it took a while to find the right medication for me tho cos i had really bad side effects with other antidepressants, prozac is the only 1 that suits me.
everyone is different, what suits 1 person doesnt necessarily suit everyone

i couldnt function without it - been on it for over 2 years - it has taken me from a suicidal social phobic to someone who is glad to wake each morning - i have had no negative symptoms at all - it has not adversely affected any aspect of my life - i have a great doctor and plan to taper off them slowly over the next while - i have a friend who has been on them for over 6 years and is lowering her dosage and also has had only positive experiences - i reckon if your doctor is responsible and works with you to find the minimum dosage you need to lift your seratonin (spelling?) levels and keeps in contact with you regularly then it can be a lifesaver - literally in my case - though there are other antidepressants that suit some people better

I took it a few years ago
Did bad things to me,got into fights, had blackouts,no fun at all
Stopped taking it,no more fights, depressed but back in control of myself.
And it destroyed my sex drive, though that may have been the high blood pressure pills I was taking at the same time
Thoroughly miserable time

Yes I have and it worked for me. Made my facial muscles do funny things for the first few days and was spacesd out for a few days coming off it but other than that, made me feel a lot better than I had been feeling with post natal depression. Doesn't work for everyone though.

I've never used it, but I know that it's an antidepressive medication given to people with bipolar, depression, or schizophrenia. It's a serotonine-reuptake inhibitor, which in other words means that your sex drive will go down (perhaps impotence)

it makes you ill for the first 2 weeks then it starts to make a difference its quite a good drug to give to severely depressed people because you cant overdose on it
