Of course they do. Most people don't ask questions to hear answers, but rather to be reassured on how they already thought. That's all people really want: to be reassured they're doing the right thing, not be told what the right thing actually is.

It doesnt matter what they pick, the fact that they did pick one means they read them all and will absorb all the answers. So really it doesnt matter what they choose, if you are mad at it, do not write answers. Otherwise just read them all, use their information, and if you seem to like one, doesnt mean its really better then the rest, or worse. Because its your perception on the situation. What you think is good, may be bad for another person.

Perhaps they have different ideas of a good answer? Such as sometimes a more detailed answer is better yet sometimes I feel they go beyond what was asked to the point that it was not a good answer. Also I never vote for an answer that was copy/pasted.

Some answers that people give is done through personal experience, contact with other people, media, news papers, television or other sources. This information is passed to others with out investigation. They do not know the impact it might have on others. Hearsay information should be analyze prior to imposiong it on others.

Yeah, it bothered me for a while but then I realized what would we do with truth if we found it anyway. This doesn't apply to life decision help (people will do what they want anyway) and questions in search of facts (mostly people to lazy to google things themselves) but I mostly argue about abstract philosophy (that there probably isn't answers to). The points really don't earn you anything but status anyway.

I agree. It's because some people already have their mind made up and they're just looking for support, not honesty. Plus not everyone on here is the sharpest knife in the drawer....

yes- it's not a serious thing for people, they are just playing. it would be nice if it was used in the manner it was intended, it could actually be very helpful- but I don't think that will happen. there are too many kids here who just want to talk about farting for that to happen.
