"If the tooth fairy made a convincing argument against the Easter bunny ... would you give up chocolate?"
Ha ha ha that s real funny!!!
I have known from experience that believers cannot hypothesise... cant even let themselves imagine possibilities. This is my real problem with religion.

The all knowing all powerful master of the universe ..
decides to make a "protector" and goofs up by forming the Devil who becomes his only enemy ..
Then with everyone going to "hell" for unspecified but live eternal torment except for "believers" who are willing to accept the nonsense as real ...
.. the story gets sillier and even less believable ...
there is no God .. and no devil ...
If the tooth fairy made a convincing argument against the Easter bunny ... would you give up chocolate?

I think I'd be so fascinated by a convincing argument that he was actually Satan -- that is, that such an entity actually has physical form -- that I would not get past that feeling. I'd probably spend all my time asking him questions and trying to understand how I could have been so wrong about the way the world is that I wouldn't take sides in his black-and-white war.
You see, I am aware that black and white are not the only two crayons in the box.

Although I consider this to be a hypothetical question, I would NEVER believe what satan told me no matter how convincing his argument was.

Man is responsible for his/her own troubles. God gives us free will to chose to follow him or not. He is not responsible for our troubles though. There is no argument that Satan could ever use to convinvce me to turn my back on God and follow him. The Angel Lucifer (who became Satan after his fall) had every opportunity in heaven, the Bible tells us that he was God's most beautiful creation. He was greedy, he wanted more, he wanted to be worshiped like God was worshiped. He started a revolution among the Angels in heaven, obtained a few followers and was cast out by God. He has authority over the world, look at all the bad that is going on around you and be assured that it comes from Satan, the Prince of lies, not from God.

I already believe that Satan gets a bad rap as it is. The poor guy doesn't even get a chance to defend himself -interesting that. You'd think you'd hear something from him once in a while, but wait - we blame all of our own imperfections on him, that's right.
When all else fails, blame it on the devil.
As to the question, well, what are we waiting for? I'm ready for rebellion.

if Satan truns up and God doesn't, it sort of tells you the cosmic deity christianity adores doesn't give a toss about us. It would be akin to a presidential election where only one candidate turns up and the other refuses to, citiing 'my followers have faith in me'. That kind of response doesn't engender positive feedback. You would see support for the 'visible' candidate grow and any sympathy for the 'no show' candidate dwindle rapidly.
I think in this scenario, 'God' by his actions would contribute to his own downfall.

Satan tricked 1/3 of all the angels in heaven and told them to fight with him against god and they lost.He made them believe that they would win cause he is a liar and deceitful so i wouldn't believe anything he said no matter how true he made it sound

Are you sure your talking about god dude? from the way you use the phrase oppresive regime it sounds like to me that you might be inadvertly or even overtly refering to G.W.Bush.
just a thought. any way for your question i would choose neither. i would rally my own rebellion against god first then when satan least expects it turn on him.

Satan is only called a manslayer, slanderer, and the father of the lie, but yeah this one time he would be telling the truth (to you no less).....come on!! he's got a horrible track record!
(in a George W accent) "there's an old saying in Texas: Fool me once,...ah.. fool me twice,..........You ain't gonna fool me again".
