That's a really good question, and the answer is that our politicians, our representatives etc. have been dragged into 'globalization', where they spend more time doing exactly what you described. I think it also has to do with what we've come to think of as the 'united states' anymore...the world keeps changing, everybody's greedy and delusional, anymore...

We worry everyday about domestic affairs, local-state-& parts of federal government. Federal government handles most of the worrying regarding foreign affairs(other countries). Get involved locally, if they're spending the majority of time/money on foreign issues, run for office.

That is a good question. I have wondered the same thing for a long time. I say until we get our own affairs straight, fu(k the rest of the world.

Because of our government can seize control of other countries then we become more powerful and we can manipulate other governments to function in uniform with ours.
