I like to rent DVD movies and copy it for my personal movie library.

You don't need dual layer. Dual layer is better because you won't have to use compression. I'd point you to a few websites with dvd decryption and copying software, but you could have just done that yourself in a search engine.

Of course this is illegal and not to be condoned. However, if you wish to make a personal backup of a movie you already own try these tools. CloneDVD2 in combination with AnyDVD can copy whatever you have. They copy the entire disc including all video, sound and subtitle options...or just what you want to record. It's up to you.

If you want all of the content, you'll need a dual layer DVD burner and dual layer blank media. Many, if not most, new DVD burners are dual layer. The media is pretty expensive still, about $2.00 per disk right now.

yes, but the end part of the movies always turned out to be a bit awkward.

i guess so. u can use #1 dvd rip, i use it and found it good enough.
