Pay attention during times you are getting angry and you will find that you are grinding your teeth and breathing quick shalow breathes.
Practice dropping your jaw. This will prevent you from grinding your teeth. When you press your teeth together it prepares you to fight. Drop your jaw consciously until it is becomes something you do subconsciously.
Also avoid caffeinated beverages for the same reason....Caffeine makes one tighten their jaw.
You may know about breathing but it is still part of the solution.
Breathe from the bottom part of your lungs. Breathe until your stomach pouches out. Our body is in fight or flight mode if we only breathe in shallow breathes. It tells us to respond to save our lives. It is something you must consciously do until your subconscious does it automatically.
Combine the jaw dropping and the breathing and you will acheive better results.

Depends on what your guest did, you might be entitled to your anger. Meditation nor breathing exercises works for me either, and I can't say that my way is the best way, so take this advice with a grain of salt.
Don't take things personally. People are out to get you down and there's nothing you can do about it. You, however, have the choice to let it bother you and be unhappy about it (and waste your energy on being angry), or laugh at their stupidity and enjoy more of your life.
Or, you can blow off steam by ranting to someone, but not AT someone. Usually a friend, loved one or colleague in the same boat is a good choice to rant with. You can also blow off steam by participating in sport, it usually gets your mind off things. Those are the few things that works for me.
Sometimes though, the people who hurt you/annoy you are the people you care about. In this case, you should tell them that they hurt you and work things out.
You might even be entitled to be angry, one thing is for sure, you should not surpress your anger and explode on the wrong person.

when you start your anger count 100 to 1 in a hurry , but correctly. If your anger shoots up to a person write it in a paper(don't give), read it in the next day. You can feel the ease and a good mental work also.

The first item on the list is to figure out why you are getting angry. Maybe some counseling will help. Then exercise or look for ways to relax. You may need a vacation just by yourself.

Go for a run. You'll be in a great mood afterwards. Then after the endorphins wear off, you'll be too tired to get angry.
