Once again, for all you naive believers, clearly the Bible is full of terrible atrocities and evil, far more than nice things, but of course believers will just ignore or twist the atrocities into whatever soothes their confused minds – “Hey, that’s OK, God made everything so it’s alright for him to do whatever he wants, he’s good” – yeah, right – get a grip for goodness sake.

If you can’t see that the Bible is in fact the Devil’s work then you’re deceiving yourself. Commonsense and logic should guide you away from the Bible, just look at the mess the world has become with all you religious believers. You’re following Satan!

God is in trouble, not the other way round, and he needs your help. Forget the Bible and start learning to be sensible and you’ll see the real light. The Devil has tricked the whole lot of you and got you following his work, and you’ve no idea what you’re doing.

Can we just burn this fricken book? Geez it causes more trouble than is needed. Forget about it. It's like arguing with Stephen King.

Let me see if I have this straight. You don't believe in the bible and you want others to change their beliefs because you think you can use the scientific method to proof or disproof anything?

God reveals, man observes.

God reveals his word as spoken by the prophets recorded in the bible. God is never proved in the pages of the bible; it is an assumption. The bible interprets itself. This means you do not need any other references to get the bible meaning.

So the notion of God comes from the bible. In order words it is a belief. Your belief is that there is no God. The fact that you think there is no God is not a proof. It does not come from facts leading the theories. It requires the same amount of faith as the opposite belief.

Now lets take Devil and Satan. Where do those term come from? Science? No. They come from the very book you do not believe in. So there must be some verses to support your notion. What are these verses? None.

So we are back where we started. Scientific method can not prove or disprove revelation.

Bottom line: Your argument require revelation which forces you to believe the very thing you are trying to not belief.

One more point: Look up the term straw hat argument and see how your question compares to it.

Well your in big trouble now, just wait until some basher says your going to hell for good time now for saying that the work of the bible is that of the devil, is the only sin that can't be forgiven etc etc

The only logical proof of this would come fromt the quran there it is say that the devil had a falling out with god etc, and that the devil is still loyal to God, and that he tries to see how loyal humans are to God. Come judgement day God will forgive the Devil, because he is God, Now I'm not saying that its true its just an answer to your question. If the quran verison is correct then worshipping anyone other than God including Jesus is a no no. And if worshipping Jesus took your worship away from God then according to the Quran your going to hell. bye bye.

The bible is the true story (warts and all) of fallen mankind, and of the evil that results when we try to do things our way, instead of God's way.

It's also the story of God's loving, just, merciful and redemptive work, on behalf of his people.

Another fact of life is that anyone who sins against God declares himself an enemy of God, and becomes subject to God's righteous judgment and wrath.

In other words, those whom God destroyed (or caused the destruction of) in the old testament knew what they were doing when they sinned, knew what the penalty was, and they were dealt with fairly, under God's existing law.

Today, we operate under the new covenant of God's grace. All we have to do is faithfully swear allegiance to God through baptism, and then, ask forgiveness when we foul up.

We also know that Jesus will someday return to complete his work, eliminate all evil and suffering, and restore all things.

This, a message of love, mercy, and total self-giving by our creator God, is the true story of the Bible.

Hmm, interesting. You call me a "naive" believer (since I AM a Christian, I AM a believer). Yet you seem to believe in the devil and Satan, which makes you a believer of him, right? If I'm wrong, I stand corrected, but you DID mention him, as a matter of fact. I just thought I would mention that. I can understand how you would be confused when you read the Scriptures, seeing all the bad stuff that's in the Bible. Why do you think the writers put it in there? If they had something to hide, don't you think they would have left out all the bad stuff and left just the light & fluffy stuff? If they were just telling a nice fairy story, they would have left off the nasty stuff. But they didn't. Because God wanted to show the world that He can and will use bad stuff to work out His plan for mankind. The Bible is full of stories of people who have failed, in one way or another, and God still used them for great things, forgiving them and raising them up to do marvelous deeds. He's still doing so now, forgiving and making what was once weak, strong. I'm not confused one bit about what I read in the Bible. Do you know why you can't understand it? Because you don't have the Holy Spirit inside of you, guiding you to understand what you're reading. I'm not making fun of you or judging you in any way. I'm stating a fact. How do I know? Well, when I was 16, I ran out of books to read, one summer. The only book in the house I hadn't read was the Bible. So, I picked it up and started at the beginning, like any other book. But, it wasn't like any other book. By the time I got to Numbers, I was done. I couldn't understand what I was reading. And listing all the people, in all the different families and such made no sense to me. I didn't pick it up again until a few years later. But even then, I only took it to church, but didn't read it much, just at church. I didn't understand it, or how it figured into my life. Not until I finally had my eyes opened by the Holy Spirit, did I "get it". Then, whenever I read something, I began to understand what it now meant, and how it applied to my life. And what's more amazing is the fact that I can read the same verse one time, and it will have little meaning for me, but several months or years later, the verse jumps up and is very relevant to what I'm living through at the moment. It's a living book, inspired by a living God. It's obvious to me that you've had some very negative run-ins with a few of my sisters & brothers. I'm sorry it left you with a bad taste in your mouth. That's not the way it's supposed to be. They must have had some very bad teaching. You see, I can only tell you, from my own experiences, what the Christian life is supposed to be, according to the Bible. It's not up to me to judge you. That's God's job. My job is to be as much like Jesus as possible, as I go through this life. I'm supposed to touch people's lives in a positive way, leaving things in better shape than when I first arrived, if possible. I'm sorry that you think some of us "religious believers" have made the world a mess. In a lot of ways, you're right. Some of us spend more time fighting others, as well as each other, than in prayer & Bible study. Some spend more time judging those around them than making a positive difference where they live. You say to "forget the Bible and start learning to be sensible". From where do we learn how to be sensible? From you? From the world? From psychologists and professors? From higher education? Hasn't seemed to have helped all the other non-believers. They're still stuggling with relationships, because philosophy doesn't know the deeper issues that make relationships bloom. All the "stuff" in the world won't fill the hole that people are trying to fill in their lives. You say that "the devil has tricked us & has us following his work". How do you know this? Do you have a special understanding of how the devil works? And how does one know when one has been tricked? You make statements, then don't show how you've come up with your conclusions. I'm really trying to understand, and am not making fun of you. It seems like you don't believe in God, but you believe in Satan. That's what's got me going "hmmm". You can't have one without the other. And I've read the back of The Book. God wins. And that makes me quite content in what I believe. I have a firm foundation that I'm standing on. I do have a grip, my friend. And I know in Whom I believe. <*)))><

The Bible is NOT "the cause."

The "cause" has more to do with errors of knowledge, translations, interpretations, and the like.

Perhaps some parts of the Bible should be looked at as a snapshot of the human condition rather than a dictation of what God thinks about something. As you can see, not much has changed with the human condition of things.

I think the concept of Devil comes from the Bible itself...

So the question is which came first?
The hen or the egg?

assalamualikum !
dear actually bible was the true word of god but it is changed now. u can find gospels of john , luke ,but there is no gospel of jesus(pbuh).
if any one can produce that u can follow it.
jesus(pbuh ) in bible mentions that " I OF MY OWN CAN DO NOTHING , I DO AS I HEAR TO BE DONE , I DO EVERY THING BY SUBMITTING MY WILL TO THE LORD ".a person who submits his will to lord is a muslim. indeed christ (pbuh) was a muslim. if jesus was a muslim then now u shud follow islam .
because " A MUSLIM IS ONE WHO SUBMITS HIS WILL TO ALMIGHTY ALLAH AND FOLLOWS THE PRINCIPLES OF ISLAM
"and we muslims do it .
