I really don't get it, and i'm getting sick and tired of it. And I am being affected by it, mainly in the healthcare department. I am 24, don't have insurance, can't get any, and can't work. Luckily my parents are helping to take care of me, but that can only go so far. My medicines, dr's appointments, and tests cost well over $1000! I can't qualify for ANY medical aid, because I live at home, and my parents make an ok living.... on paper at least. Now I could go out on my own, go on different forms of finicial aid, but I choose not to because I don't want to "use" the governemtn, yet its my only option.
Its really not fair that I should be $100k+ in debt, not qualify for ANY assistance. How is that fair? I've paid taxes, I haven't broken any laws, why should my governemtn have to cater to those, that won't cater to themselves. Why can't they fight there governemtn, and make there country a better place to live?

➔ Immigration
You are talking about apples and oranges. Immigrants have nothing to do with your medical insurance situation- millions of Americans are in the exact same boat. If you don't like it, VOTE for reps who will change it. Fight YOUR government.
Until you have walked a mile in their shoes, you have NO CLUE what immigrants in this country go through. And don't forget, if it weren't for immigrants, YOU WOULDN'T BE HERE, unless you are a native American Indian. Your ancestors were immigrants who were probably tired of fighting THEIR governments, and decided to come to America to give their families a better life, and that includes you.
This country was built by immigrants, so get over your "us and them" attitude. You came from them.
Hopefully your ancestors were not greeted by people like you when they arrived at Ellis Island.

It's simple, welfare and assistance policies have been HEAVILY skewed towards minorities/immigrants for years because you're supposed/assumed to be 'rich', and all. This is what happens when your state and national representatives are intellectually dishonest, and see the chance to make a buck. It's not entirely their fault, though, the price of medical services has skyrocketed,
healthcare's become healthscare, a privatized industry where money literally means the difference between life and death,
and it sounds like you're caught in the hinge on the door of economic viability, there. If I were you, I'd start writing letters and asking for help from people, hell, send a letter to Bill Gates and explain your predicament. But, don't stop there, or assume you'll get answers back. But, there are philanthropic entities in the world, maybe you can find some assistance somehow...just have to do some careful research...

Some immigrants are choosing to challenge the US government because for many, many years our government has looked the other way while benefiting from the illegal immigrant labor force. Now that the government has permitted business owners to use other strategies to manipulating the work force to their benefit (example -seeking cheaper overseas labor), the US decides they have no more use for illegal immigrants. However, these "immigrants" believe they are now entitled to a piece of the "American Pie" because in many ways they have contributed to the enrichment of the US economy.
Many immigrants also see the US as being easier to challenge because the principles of our country are built on "Freedom of Speech" and if we complain about something we don't like long enough then the laws are changed. Some folks don't want to stay in their own country and challenge their democracy because they want to see a better life for themselves now not - 30, 50 or 100 years later.
I can certainly understand your frustration about lack of accessibility to affordable health care among other things, but I believe the immigrants are being blamed too much for absorbing US benefits when really these issues about lack of affordable health coverage and low paying jobs should be directed to our lawmakers to address the greed of these wealthy employers who pay workers pennies a day, health providers, health insurance and managed health care companies.
Immigrants are not the cuplrit here Captialism Is

This, like life is unfair. You're past the point of affordable insurance. However if you are taking any prescription meds, there are a number of pharmaceutical co's that offer free samples. A page or two of simple paperwork is all that's required, in most cases. There are also many free clinics available to women for certain tests, procedures and even operations, regardless of income.
Don't worry about "using" government funds, that's what they are there for. As you have seen, someone else will gladly take government funds if you don't. Don't feel bad... Get better. You can always pay it back.

Dear,
There are other avenues instead of you going in debt. I am not certain about what state you live in, but NY has a healthcare plan for adults not making enough money. I am sure the premiums for this would be less than spending money without insurance. As for you living with your parents it shouldn't matter since you are not over 23. According to most work provided health insurances most parents can only claim their children until the age of 23 (that too only if they are in college)
Try doing a google search for your state and insurance, hopefully something comesup.
Below is the website for NYS.

First of all, every LEGAL immigrant pays taxes like any citizen and I keep repeating here, that LEGALS do not get the same benefits as citizens (SSI, Medicaid, etc.).
If you don't have insurance, then either you don't earn enough to pay for insurance privately, or you choose not to buy it and spend your money elsewhere. This situation was created by Reagan when he privatised health insurance ages ago. The people in this country keep electing representatives who DO NOT advocate universal health care. They argue that it's too expensive and ineffective which is not true. It obviously works in Europe.
This is not the fault of the immigrants, but of your politicians who choose to spend funds to subsidize other things other than health care. If you want that to change, start talking to your congressman.
Hillary Clinton wanted to make changes and look at what happened. People bashed her left and right, but never looked at the core problem. I hate to say it, but I don't feel sorry for you. You got what you voted for.

I'm proud of you, that you have the morals and honesty that you refuse to use the system! And, it's a damn shame that foreigners get MORE help than legal citizens in this country! It's not "fair'! Not to you, and not fair to every american citizen who pays taxes and obeys our laws. These criminals sneak over here, and are given everything free, and this needs to STOP!
