Pina Colada Wine Coolers. YUM!

Wine coolers are cheap alcohol and give you headaches. If you want something that tastes good, try a vodka tonic with two limes squeezed in there.

It's not sweet, but it's not bad, has way less calories and if you use decent vodka and don't drink too many, won't give you a headache the next day.

There is no such thing as a wine cooler, the products to which you refer are know in the Alcohol industry as alca-pop.... these are all malt beverages or fermented grains is were the Alcohol comes from.... there is no wine in these beverages. it is just a marketing ploy to make what is a marginal product palatable to the Masses.

Lindauer sparkling rosé from New Zealand
Rosé champagne is earmarked as being this year's top tipple, according to bar consultant Robbie Bargh from Gorgeous Group, a bar and restaurant consultancy. 'As a nation we are drinking more and more and we always want to trade up.' According to Thresher's head wine buyer Jonathan Butt, Lindauer is popular because it comes from New Zealand. 'People have a clean, green image of New Zealand and they like to buy wines from there,' he says. (We also can't help notice that with Lindauer you get a bottle of bubbly without Champagne prices.)
Tasting notes: The wine is simple and very fruit-forward.

Jacob's Creek Shiraz Rosé
If you're on a bit more of a budget, or you don't fancy bubbles, try this Australian wine. Jacob's Creek has a reputation for being relatively good and relatively inexpensive.
Tasting notes: It has a bit more of a tang to it than, say, a zinfandel and is very refreshing.

Leopard's Leap
If rosé's not your thing, don't panic. Butt recommends a Pinot Noir for those who like red wine and a sauvignon blanc for those who like white. 'Pinot Noir is lighter than shiraz,' he says, and goes well with steak or ribs straight from the barbecue. Sauvignon blanc continues to outsell chardonnay and Butt's hottest brand tip is Leopard's Leap from South Africa, which has an extensive range of wines as well as a conservation tag to protect areas inhabited by leopards, which means its vineyards do no harm to leopard habitats. (Go on drink up. It's good for wildlife beyond the whole knickers-on-the-chandelier variety.) The brand covers an extensive range of styles including:
Leopard's Leap Sauvignon Blanc 2000
Leopard's Leap Pinotage / Shiraz 2000
Leopard's Leap Semillon Chardonnay 2002
Leopard's Leap Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot 2001
Leopard's Leap Lookout Red 2001
Leopard's Leap Lookout White 2002

My favorite is sour apple smirnoff because it reminds me of the apple pucker shots I get at the bars. Yummy!
