Leeds castle. It's got a moat - proper castle! A large aviary full of tropical birds that are well looked after. It also has an amazing maze that ends up in a grotto - the kids will love it. One tip, if you really can'y find your way to the middle look out for the guy who's just hanging around. Hell tell you the way. There are cafes too but you can sit by the water with a picnic and feed the ducks and swans.

My wife and I went to Dover Castle a couple of years ago. It's often overlooked because of the port, but it's fabulous and has a reconstruction of the WWII base.
