My idea is that Iran having atomic energy is not a good idea. The reason that I do not think that Iran should have atomic energy at this time; is that based on the comments of your president, I do not believe atomic energy would be used for peaceful purposes by your political and military leadership.

I have nothing against the Iranian people and have great respect for them. However the extreme comments made by your president in regards to wiping Israel off the map, and denying the existence of the holocaust leads me to believe that your political climate is full of persons no different than the terrorists who flew passenger airplanes into the World Trade Center on 9/11/01.

Until that changes, I sympathize with the people of Iran for what I honestly believe is a need for an efficient distribution and production power system, but until your political leadership renounces its belief in the complete annihilation of Israel; I can not support your government’s attempt to obtain atomic/and or nuclear power.

Any country whose president has stated to the press that "Israel and America should be wiped off the map" should not be trusted with anything nuclear at all. Such a mentally unstable person does not deserve to be a world leader. He is part of the problems of this world, not part of the solution. It would be just as wrong for W to say "The Islamic world must be exterminated." If he did, I can only hope he would be impeached and removed from office. . . . You see, people who make statements about obliterating other parts of the world should NOT be allowed to lead A BASKET-WEAVING CLASS, LET ALONE AN ENTIRE COUNTRY. At what point did it become okay for countries to toss around such insane end-of-the-world ideas? (It's not okay to do so.) Let's say Iran succeeded in nuking Israel and America into dust. Do you honestly think that the resulting FALLOUT would be just something that would go away, like a rainstorm? Weather patterns would spread it over the whole world, and while your precious palestine might have been retaken, it would be at the cost of the whole human race. Ahmadinejad belongs in a mental institution.

Be nice and nuke no one and we will all be happy. The US did nothing to stop Israel from obtaining nuclear bombs and may have actually aided them. Is Iran any more reactive a nation then Israel? The US itself has nuclear bombs and unlike the US Iran has not attacked anyone since the US provoked Iraq-Iran war. So for the moment Iran seems much more stable then the US or Israel who are both currently involved in wars on several fronts.

And for standup phi and justanothere the last thing in the world the US wants is radioactive oil nor the radioactive smoke that will travel in the trade winds across the Pacific. Think about it.

I have no problem. I think that is good to use atomic energy. In the future more and more countries will have to use this kind of energy, because there will not be enough oil. Cernobal is an isolate case.

Many Americans, including me, are quite concerned about nuclear weapons in the hands of someone, such as the current Iranian president, who wants to obliterate Israel. I would have no reservations about Iranian development of atomic energy if it were subject to the same sort of international inspection that other states accept. But Iran, as one of the major oil producers of the world, does not need nuclear energy for power.

I don't care if you want atomic energy. The issue is the enrichment of the Uranium to be used for other than energy. Your Government says none of the worlds opinions will stop them from achieving their goal of atomic weapons. Until they let the UN inspect their enrichment program , things will get worse before they get better.

Presently, I consider the iranian president mostly a big talker with nothing to back it up. However, if iran develops nuclear power it will also be assumed that there are nuclear bombs. Then when the iranian president starts making threats they will be taken serously. keep in mind that israel has nuclear bombs NOW, and their defence policy says they WILL use them if they are threatened. US is an ally of israel. and may also launch some nukes. India also has nukes, and they don't like iran either. Therefore, if the iranian president makes threats and can act on them, Iran will be nuked until theres nothing left.
