The physical body, the spirit, and the soul.

Why then do we allow our fellow believers to state falsely that the Body is merely a shell/receptical of a person, and not part of their essence?

In the Christian community, there is such a thing as correcting bad doctrine, and the aforementioned doctrine of the Body merely being a shell is an example of bad/false doctrine.

Good question - Good answer -
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? (20) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Glorify God in your body -
Seems to me some folks think that what you do to, with and in your body doesn't matter - Not true
1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Blameless is the aim -
Maybe that is the problem - We don't like taking responsibility for ourselves - Don't blame me; I didn't do anything wrong.

Let me assure you my friend, You can keep busy 24 hours a day correcting bad/false doctrine in here.

I guess it could be a shell that holds your spirit and soul. This shell you will use for enternity, they better get use to it.

hahahahahha

that body WILL rise from the grave just like Jesus did.

woooo hoooooooooooo

First, 1 Cor 10:23-24

Second, we are not responsible for what people believe. We are responsible for spreading the Christian message. This is quite clear in the Gospel of John. Just do a word study on belief, believe, believer, and nonbeliever.

Third, man is body, soul, and spirit. When he/she dies, what part dies? Please quote the book and verse. When you can answer that, you can put into context what your fellows Christians are talking about.

Our Creator is recorded in the Bible as tripartite(3 in 1)Father-Son-Holy Spirit. He declares we are made in His image which indicates 3 dimensions to our life. The body makes me earth-conscious, The soul makes me self-conscious, The spirit makes me God-conscious. We are individually unique and while the body degenerates(wastes), it must be renewed and if dead reunited with my perfected personality at the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.Pursuing Truth is a must for all.

The dust from the ground = the body. The breath of life- which God breathed into our nostrils= the life giving character forming spirit. And the combination of both the breath of God and our earthly bodies= A LIVING SOUL!

Gen 2:7 And the Lord God made man from the dust of the earth, breathing into him the breath of life: and man became a living soul.

By being the 'shell' for the soul, it allows the Body into essence. See, that is it's purpose and once it is fufilled (meaning after you physically die), the Body is no more but an essence, not a being. I don't know if this makes sense to anyone, but it makes sense to me. :)

Being alive, you are right. Death is the other dimension, a state where the body of a person is irrelevant to its being. Some things
that we read about in the Holy Bible.

I've answered you before, I think.

The body is you. Love it. See to it that it is loved. Burn your "New Testament" in the heat of what your body can generate.

Live.

Allow? You are not in charge of them, they can speak and think for themselves. They just hold different beliefs then you.
