Didn't you ask a question similar to this one already?

No he doesn't have any right to be angry at you.

He shouldn't be angry about that. But he might be sad or disappointed. Especially if you were close to him at one point. It's only fair for him to consider the amount of time that may have passed or the volume of people you met around the time you met him. If you used to date him or have been intimate with him and you can't remember him, he might assume that you've had so many dates and thats why you can't remember him. Whatever the case, please, he certainly doesn't have the RIGHT to be. Just say you're sorry and move on.

I forget peoples names all the time and have done so all of my (49 years) life. No one has ever gotten angry at me; a little annoyed maybe but not angry; and that's even after I have told them I forgot it. The trick to it all is to NOT let them know that you have forgot it.

Most folks don't know that I have forgotten thier name anyway because I say the same thing to everyone. To men, I greet them as: "Hi, Buddy" and to the ladies, I just say: "Hey now".

It's not right but, it WORKS for me!

It would depend on the way you tell them that you don't remember them.

If you act like it is no big deal that you don't remember them when they obviously remember you, then yes, it is understandable that they might get angry.

However, if you wrack your brain trying to remember them, act humble and embarrassed, and apologize for your horrible memory, then they are idiots if they get mad. That is their problem, not yours.

As I get older (and I'm not yet 40), it gets harder and harder for me to remember names of new people that I meet. Once I explain to them that this is becoming more common for me, most of them think it's funny ... but there are always a few that must feel they are so totally important in the world that I should remember their name and get angry and rude if I don't. What's funny is that I do end up remembering their names, but I always associate them with being rude even when they aren't.

You cannot be expected to remember everyone you meet, but be nice about explaining that you don't remember them.

huh?
We all get forgetful. I have a reason this guy put you on a pedistal, You were prime on his mind. You on the other hand met him and then you have a busy year and forget him. The boy is way too sensitive.
He needs tougher skin, which means he would get his feelings hurt too easly.

He is rude to be angry. He needs to just get over it.

Well, he might be mildly offended but that is his problem.

Given your later details (a year ago & he is 15) it sounds like he has a huge ego! No, he has no right to be angry.

Remembering everyone isn't easy. It is normal for him to be angry. He is probably disappointed you forgot him. It happens and he will get over it.

Put yourself in his shoes . . . What if you were told that your weren't memorable at all. No matter how well you knew him before his ego is bound to be brusied. But if he is ANGRY, that is something else and a little excessive. Upset or offended I would understand.

He has the right to feel whatever he wants but it shouldn't affect you because you should know that it is just immature behaviour on his part.
