If you've brushed your teeth & tongue, then it could be one of several reasons. Maybe something you ate that had a strong seasoning in it, like garlic (that smell will sit in your lungs for several hours after you eat). It could be your medication, which theren's nothing you can do about unless you stop the medicine. It could be an illness, which you should get checked out with your doctor. At any rate, I would get it checked out with your doctor, so at least you can ease your mind that it's something simple, like the strong seasonings you use in your food. Many East Indian dishes are highly seasoned with curry, which can give a strong odor. Hopefully, it's something that can be easily found and eliminated, if possible. <*)))><

you probably have cavities, but it could be caused from food you eat or maybe something is stuck in your teeth.
Brush really good and floss, then use some mouth wash and see if the smell is still there. Wait an hour or so without eating or drinking anything but water and see if the smell comes back.

If it isn't bad breath from just general tooth brushing and mouth washing then it could be several things. First, you could need dental work. If you have cavities or decaying teeth it will cause terrible breath. If this isn't the problem, gum disease can cause bad breath. If Listerine and tooth paste doesn't cure it, see your dentist immediately before you are sitting in the chair for that hour and a half root canal!

bad breath usually means poor health or a growth of bacteria in your mouth. it could be an infection. change your diet and eat healthy. fruits, vegies, whole grain, whole wheat, high fiber foods along with lean proteins. make sure to brush, floss and use a good mouth wash. use a good toothpast; colgate total helps a mouth to stay healthy. make sure to drink plenty of green tea and water. visit a dentist and get a physical.

some of the other answers are good; one thing they left out...buy a tongue scraper or clean your tongue with your toothbrush. Floss at least once a day in the evening, before bed.
If your teeth, gums & tongue are clean, there will be no odor.
Good luck.
