Congratulations on wanting to change your life!

Acts 2:38 - "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. "

The first step to obtaining salvation is to repent. You must apologize for your sins, and ask God for forgiveness. It takes sincerity. You must mean it. And you must be truly ready in your heart to turn away from the world. Also, have faith that ALL of God's word is right. He obviously wants to do something with you else you wouldn't want this change.

But, because you can't stop at step 1.. I'll just give you the rest...

Next you must be baptized in Jesus' name for the remission of sin. This is the cleansing process. Even Jesus himself was baptized. Not because he had to be cleansed.. but because he was our example.

Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. This is when you allow God to come into your body. And His Spirit begins to dwell with you. Many people do not believe in this, but as someone who has experienced it, I can tell you, it's the best feeling in the world.

There are people who believe that you only need to "confess with your mouth and believe in your heart."

Romans 10:9 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

That scripture is saying that if you believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, then you have faith, and through your faith you can obtain salvation. But the Bible also says:

Matthew 7:21 - "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. "

This is how we know that simply confessing that we believe in Jesus is not enough. We must receive the keeping power he has provided us with. We do this through receiving the Holy Ghost.

Acts 1:8 - "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

But to obtain salvation, we must follow the commandments laid out in Acts 2:38.

One thing I say, and this is for anything in your life. If you don't believe or you have doubts.. always research it for yourself. Ask God to open up your understanding. Have a receptive heart and He will lead you to the truth. If you have questions feel free to contact me! God Bless!!!!

Best Wishes!

The word rapture does not appear in the Bible.
it is a word that was used to discribe what they think will happen in the very near future.
Normally they use II Tessalonians 4 and I Corinthians 15 as the"rapture " taking place.
the Greek word Hazparo means to be taken away by force or to be plucked out.
I personally do not believe that there will be a rapture as such but mainly that Jesus will take us away before He returns to the Mount Olivet on the Day of the Lord.
Of course you will have people with different views on when the "rapture" will take place some say pre tribulations some say middle and other say post tribulation.
I have not found any evidence in the Bible that there will be a pre or even a mid tribulation rapture.
I believe that we will go through the tribulation.
the best way is that you study Matthew 24 on the last days prophecies and see what Jesus Himself says about the end times.
I pray that the Holy Spirit will convince you and not me or any one else since this is a matter that should not be taken lightly.

Well of course there is the book of Revelations, the whole thing is about the end time, the rapture and the happenings after it. If you're just starting out look there. It is mentioned in other places of the bible, within other scripture but it might me harder for you to find. Also you can check it on bible.com and keyword rapture and other words like that to lead you to those verses. Have you ever heard of Left Behind, it is a biblical fiction series based on the rapture and things of that nature. I really love it and its a good starting place. Hope this helped. Toodleloo.

Actually, you must difference your wording simply rather: Hebrew Bible Roman Catholic Bible Protestant Bible The Jewish students completed the version of the Hebrew Bible in approximately the 3rd century. That textual content is integrated in each the RC and Prot. Bible. The order of the books is distinct, considering the fact that of underlying assumptions. The Christian Bible (the New Testament) wasn't particularly nailed down till close to the 10th century or so. After that, it used to be locked in. This used to be performed in a sequence of Church Councils. This textual content is the equal in each the RC and Prot. Bible, and the Old Testament is as a rule the equal in both of those Bibles, besides that the order is also slightly distinct. The best change among the RC and Prot. Bibles is the presence of the Apocrypha -- a few books that have been unknown in Hebrew, however have been integrated mostly in Greek language translations of the Old Testament that have been in standard use across the time of the early Church. That Greek translation of the Old Testament (referred to as the Septuagint) used to be so standard (such a lot Jews didn't at the moment take into account tips on how to talk or learn Hebrew anymore) that at any time when you discover the Old Testament quoted within the New Testament, it's constantly the Septuagint textual content they're quoting.

The rapture is in Revelation, though I can't give you specific chapters to start with, it's a very spiritual book and I'm not well-read on it yet. The whole book is the rapture/end of days/armageddon though. Hope that helps a little!

Okay here goes... It may be a little long but - 1Thessalonians 4:16 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
There are many other referneces to the "rapture" like Romans 8:11 "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." Another reference is the 5 wise and 5 foolish virgins in Matthew 25... We could go on and on... (and on)
One thing that is not common knowledge is that the word rapture is not used in the King James Bible; I haven't looked in the NIV but I do not believe that it is used there either. Unfortunately many religions/denominations do not even mention the rapture of the church any more; it is good to hear from someone that is interested.
I hope this helps - Let me know if I can help further.

The rapture is a false teaching, its not in the bible.
Go to this website & ask them about the rapture , after you hear their answer then you'll understand.
The rapture teaching was started in England back in the 1800's sometime. The early christians didn't teach it.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with God's trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever.

Pretty slim basis for such a fervently held belief. Two observations: (1) nobody in the history of Christianity believed this before J.N. Darby popularized it in the late 19th century, and (2) no serious scholarly commentator believes that's what the author meant.

It doesn't!
The rapture is a recent invention that has stayed strong in the US but look elsewhere to see the folly of mistranslation! To go up into the clouds with the Lord in a blink of an eye, kinda bastardizes Revelations but it is not like most people think!

READ REVELATION FOR YOURSELF! Do not listen to someone reading it to you!
