Any good places to visit (for food and shopping) in central or west jakarta?

There are lots of places to go between these two areas of Jakarta because it has the largest area there. First off in central Jakarta, for shopping delight you can visit a few of the many shopping mals there like Plaza Senayan, Plaza Indonesia(and joining it would be the newly opened EX plaza) and also The Plaza Senayan. As for the food, I must dissapoint you cause I don't usually eat at any fancy restos in these areas so you have to hunt them down yourself. Next you can go straight to China Town down at Glodok where you can also shop for variety of electronic goods at very good prices and also chinese food along the way. Then you could go on to the west side of the city to some shopping mals like Mal Taman Anggrek and Mal Citraland. Oh, one more thing is that while you're shopping at Glodok you can stop by at Mangga Dua Mal and ITC Mangga Dua too. There you can find garments at very fantastic prices and also at the mal you can shop for electronics too as well. Okay, hope that this can be of much help. Enjoy yourself. yup.. a lot of good places there.. especially the "soto madura" in kota.. its between the traffic lights.. hmm i forgot the name of the street.. im really sorry.. i've never come back to Jakarta for 2 years now.. really miss the food and everything !!..

for shopping, a lot of malls.. like Taman Anggrek ( a lot of teenagers go there), Citraland ( I only go there every sunday.. cuz my church is in there).. have fun.. and good luck !!
