The Almighty has better things to do than listen to the whiny spiels of people thanking Her for some thing.
And make no mistake, people who thank God are thanking Her for something, either in the positive ("Thank God I caught that bus!" "Thank God I found that c-note!" "Thank God the test was negative!") or negative ("Thank God I'm not that poor schlub busking quarters.")
I don't go about thanking Her, primarily because I'm a religious person. She has better things to do than worry about what one mook in the posterior of space... You get the idea.
Plus, thanking God sorta would contradict my personal view of the Almighty's role in the universe. I see Her as the primus motive, the First Cause, the Great Clockmaker setting the perpetual machine of the universe in motion, and not caring if some of the gears get out of whack.

I don't know if I'm necessarily thanking God, but I say thank you, like to the universe or to life, whenever anything good, great or amazing happens...from accomplishing goals, to the serendipity of a favorite song coming on while I'm watching the sunset.

At least once a day. If you ever lose something you realize how precious other things are to you and it is important to realize this and to thank God. Appreciate things while you have them, not only after they are gone. This includes people!

Not as often as I should, I fear. I do though at least a few times a day. I mean, God gives/has given me so much, there aren't enough thanks in the world to express it. He is such a generous God, I love him so.

Not nearly enough....he has brought me through many things. So I think i should say it now. Thank you God for just being God. And thank you for the opportunity and the reminder. God bless.

I've been working on doing it hourly. I realize that the devil and his demons had a convention and they have decided to direct our attention past God and to the mess of our worlds. So, they can't make us stop worshiping, they can't make us stop praying, they can't make us stop believeing, but they can sure make it difficult to do these simple things, ie: tv, stress, too many dishes, clothing, you get the idea...
So, to keep the devil at arms length and to give thanks for my being able to realize this, I thank God every hour.

Everyday. God isn't Santa Claus. We shouldn't only thank Him for the things He has provided, but we should give thanks because of His character. He is a holy, just, and loving God.
