First, have your idiot son chew as many sticks as his mouth can hold comfortably.
Secondly, after the wad reaches the proper consistency, have the idiot stretch the wad to the distance of his right ankle, leaving enough of the gum to wrap around his ankle.
Lastly, have him stand up and encourage him to begin chewing. Take his hand and begin to walk with him. Each step with his right leg will tug on the remaining wad in his mouth and stimulate his chewing reflex.

Here's how you don't teach him *anything*: Humiliate and degrade him. Ask him "Why can't you be more like so-and-so?". He'll shut you out and become absorbed in hateful fantasies of your mouth suddenly locking shut or shoving you off a high cliff.
