One of the most common causes of salt craving is dehydration caused by not enough fluid intake.
It is important to limit one’s over all salt intake to prevent fluid overload and heart disease. However, salt craving is usually a sign of the body needing fluids.
Salt helps the body hold on to water. The best way to avoid salt craving is to drink plenty of fluids.

If you aren't pregnant, it generally means you are't getting enough salt in your diet. If you've been cutting back on sodium or eating things that don't give much, try adding a little more into your diet for a while to see if it helps.
Good Luck

Sounds like you are just low on sodium......eat salty things until you stop craving them. Your body is great about telling you what it needs.

Worst case scenario could be a thyroid condition or hypoglycemia. Or you could just be craving salt for no apparent reason. Talk to your doctor.

Your body gives you a signal and you should respond to it...but try to give it good salt... Sea Salt is a good type of salt that also gives your body the minerals it is searching for. Refined salt is almost worthless.http://curezone.com/foods/saltpage.asp
